This weekend was nothing short of amazing. Tom took Friday and Monday off of work and we packed up the car with all of our stuff, and of course Maddie Grace, and headed to my hometown of Savannah for a long weekend. I hadn’t been home in so long and it felt so good just to relax for a few days.
On Saturday we brought MG to the beach for the very first time. She wasn’t the biggest fan of the water, but the majority of the time we were there she curled up on her dad and slept.
Sunday was Maddie Grace’s church dedication at the church I grew up in and Tom and I were married in. She did fabulous for it and didn’t even fuss when the preacher walked her up and down the aisle. We stayed in the pews for the rest of the service and she fell asleep and started snoring. It was a beautiful service and I’m so glad that both of our parents and a few of our friends were able to be there.
Monday we took MG to the beach again with my mom. She slept on a towel for the first hour or so we were there, then woke up and sat in my lap and played with her feet in the sand, which she seemed to enjoy for a while. Then she had a complete emotional breakdown so we left, had a late lunch with my whole family, and then headed back to Atlanta.
I’d like to put more time and effort into growing this blog so look out for lots of new stuff coming up this week – a recipe for delicious creamy strawberry ice cream just in time for the Fourth of July, an introduction to cloth diapering, and of course another fun giveaway!
