This week I’m talking about a subject near and dear to my heart. Something I am madly passionate about and totally in love with. That’s right, we are talking about Online Shopping! I love the thrill of the hunt. When I see something I need to have, and set out to find it at the lowest price. I don’t care how long it takes and how much effort it requires, finding something at an awesome price leaves me with a sense of accomplishment that makes it worth it. So here are my tips for finding the best deals online shopping:
1. Google Shopping.
I love using google shopping and it always amazes me how many people don’t know about it or don’t utilize it. Simply google what you’re looking for and click the shopping tab. From there what I like to do is sort from lowest price up and see if I can find what I’m looking for on a good sale. Lots of times this alone leads me to finding the best deal possible very quickly, but other times I’ve ended up finding better deals just using regular google and searching for what I’m looking for (google shopping doesn’t list every single item on sale so sometimes good deals are left out).
2. Search for coupon codes.
Lots of times a simple google search for the name of whatever you are purchasing from with ‘promo code’ or ‘coupon code’ afterwards can help save you a little money. Look for blog posts that were written recently, posts on social media by the store you are looking at, whether the store sends a coupon code when you sign up for their emails, and coupon code database sites.
3. If a price is too good to be true, it might just be.
You aren’t going to find a pair of Tory Burch flats for under $100. It just no way, not in 100 years, isn’t going to happen. If you see them on Ebay for that price you know that they are going to be fakes, sorry. And come on ladies, you are too good for fakes from China, shell out a little more money and get the real deal. If on Ebay, look for the seller reviews. If a seller only has one or two, don’t buy from them. If a seller has thousands upon thousands of positive reviews, and those reviews say that buyers received products that were real, it’s a good indicator that they are selling authentic products.
4. Follow your favorite stores on social media.
This is hands down the best way to know when stores are having flash sales and different other deals. Interact with stores, let them know you love their products, and maybe they’ll send some love back your way!
5. Get cash back.
I never order anything online without checking to see if I can get some cash back from Ebates first. I’m sure there are other cash back online shopping services, but I’ve only tried Ebates and now have gotten two checks from Ebates so I can guarantee you that it works. It’s never a lot of money, typically 1%-8% (cash back percentages depend on stores) back on the total cost of your purchase, but I still see it as being paid to shop, and I can’t think of anything better than that!
Agree with all these tips!! My mom got me on Ebates last Christmas. Gotta love making money to shop! And I always search for coupon codes before purchasing an item..
Thanks for the great tips and even better giveaway! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!
Good luck!!!
Add me to the list of people who haven't used or even heard of Google Shopping! I've obviously been missing out. Can't wait to give it a shot!
It's great, that's how I often quickly find the best deal! I love being able to sort from the cheapest option and that it pulls from multiple websites!
I love searching for coupons online. RetailMeNot is my fav 🙂
Yes they're good!
These are great tips! I do all of these except for Google shopping. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
It's so helpful!
What great tips! I've definitely fallen for the too good to be true trick!
Me too girl. $80 Tory flats from Hong Kong that fall apart the day you get them? Not worth it!
I am always searching for promo codes, and I'm totally obsessed with Ebates! You should also check out Shop at Home – sometimes they have better percentages than Ebates, and I can vouch that their checks are legit as well 🙂
Two or three years ago I did almost all my shopping in stores. I needed to get my item right away and loved the hunt. Now, years and several children later, I have no time for it. Plus, the hunt is way better when everything is at your fingertips online. I even did all my daughter's school supply shopping online! And yes, coupon codes are a MUST!
