Beauty Review // Michael Todd Soniclear

I am so excited to be bringing you a review of my favorite skincare products right now, the Michael Todd Soniclear. I received the Soniclear about a month ago, and wanted to give it a whole month of use before writing this review so that I had sufficient time to use the product and see how well it works over an extended period of time. If you’ve never used an electric brush before, manufacturers say to give them some time to actually work, and that they might actually make your skin worse before it gets better. After a month I have seen a significant improvement with my skin so today I can confidently write this review letting you know what an amazing product the Soniclear is.

 

I was not new to the world of sonic cleansing brushes when I started using the Soniclear. I’d had a competitor brush, the Clarisonic Mia 2, for a couple of years. I was very disappointed in it though – it only lasts a couple days between battery charging, and my skin was fairly broken out when I switched to the Soniclear. Overall, the Soniclear is very similar to the Clarisonic Mia. It is slightly larger than my Mia, but still fits nicely in my hand, and has longer brush bristles. This may seem like an odd thing to notice except that the longer bristles seem to clean better around my nose.

You are supposed to clean your face in sections using the Soniclear, and there is a timer that beeps when it is time for you to move on to the next section of your face. The Clarisonic Mia also has a built in timer, one that does not beep, and seems significantly shorter than the time the Soniclear gives you. Personally I like that the Soniclear has a longer cleaning time, as I feel like I need that time to adequately clean my face.

The Soniclear has 3 different speed settings for cleaning your face, and also 3 settings for cleaning your body using the body brush that comes with the Soniclear. This is huge! The Mia does not come with a body brush, and only has one or two speed settings based on the model. This allows people with sensitive skin and people with less sensitive skin to both be able to use the brush at a speed that works for them.

My favorite thing about the Soniclear, and the biggest thing that sets it apart from any other skin cleaning brush, is the antimicrobial brush. The Clarisonic does instruct you to replace the head every 3 months, but it still always seems to me like that isn’t enough. I mean there has to be nasty germs living in that thing, right? The Soniclear’s antimicrobial brush solves this problem and results in what can only be described as a better brush, that leaves you with cleaner skin. The Soniclear brush stays so clean that it only needs to be replaced once  year, which will save a lot of money in the long run. One month in and the Soniclear brush seems clean and dry every time I use it, where my Mia brush always seems damp and rather dingy.

 

Overall I highly recommend the Michael Todd Soniclear. Michael Todd has amazing customer service and the Soniclear comes with a 2 year warranty so if anything does go wrong I am confident that you will be taken care of.
