Didn’t I seriously just write a 9 month update yesterday? No? Wow. 10 months old. 9 months sounded young still. 10 months sounds like practically 12 months which is practically a teenager which means next thing I know she will be in college and then off in the real world. Oh boy – I’m not sure I knew the train wreck of emotions I was getting myself into when I became a mom.
There are no good pictures for her 10 months. We can’t go outside because it’s too cold here and trying to get Maddie Grace to sit still is just impossible.
This age is amazing though. Her personality is out in full force. Maddie Grace loves to laugh, play and clap her hands. She knows no strangers and one of her favorite things to do is crawl up to whoever is around and give them hugs and kisses. She has also started wanting to share things, usually the food she is holding and especially with our cat who happily eats up any chicken that Maddie Grace will give her.
MG is getting scarily close to walking. She has stood by herself a handful of times and is great at walking when holding onto something she can push. She does a lot of bear crawling lately and her Sunday School teachers have told me they can tell she thinks about walking when she watches the other kids doing it but hasn’t quite ventured off on her own yet.
Playtime under the crib.
Right now Maddie Grace’s favorite game to play is chase. When daddy gets home one of us holds her and trots around with her and the other chases and she thinks it is absolutely hilarious. She also likes chase when crawling on the floor and one of us crawls after her. MG also thinks it’s pretty fun when we imitate the noises she makes or blow raspberries on her. Basically her dad and I are the funniest people ever which we’ve known and are glad someone finally appreciates it.
I’m pretty sure MG spends all week looking forward to her swimming class, which is a blast for us both. She smiles, laughs and splashes the whole time we are there. Last class she would not stop splashing the entire class and laughing about it. It was hilarious.
In just the last month Maddie Grace has developed a real thing for her dolls and stuffed animals. She is always picking them up, hugging them, kissing them and carrying them around with her wherever she crawls. It’s really cute.
I’m excited yet terrified of what this next month holds! Slow down baby girl!
