Cold. Rainy. Cloudy.
That pretty sums up our weekend and covers our forecast for the week ahead. YAY!
But for real. This weather is the pits. On Saturday we went out for a walk before it started raining on us and we ran into a sweet neighbor who is in her early 90’s. She told me she thought she had the African Sleeping Bug because she has been tired all the time so now I keep telling people that’s what I have because I have been beyond exhausted the last couple weeks. It’s probably actually because Maddie Grace has been having screaming parties from 1-3:30 am every night. Anyone want MG to come spend the night with them?
Thursday was Chinese New Year so we had to get some pictures of Maddie Grace in a kimono her Auntie Christine brought her back from her trip to China and Japan last year. Not sure if it’s really Chinese or Japanese but she looked really cute in it.
One of our biggest weekend accomplishment was getting picture’s taken for Maddie Grace’s passport because we are going on a cruise at the end of April! I read a billion articles on how to best take an infant passport picture. The basic message I got from them was that we were screwed.
These articles agreed that the best method was to lay your baby on a white sheet, stand on a chair, and get a picture of your baby with their mouth closed and a neutral expression (so not laughing or crying) looking at the camera with both ears showing. Here’s the best one we ended up with:
Although if it wasn’t for the neutral expression part I would have used this one:
Once I got the picture I edited the background to make it more white and even, and used an online cropping tool to get the measurements right.
Someone wrote on this picture when I shared it on my personal Facebook that they got a good passport picture by putting their child in a shopping cart and wheeling it in front of the picture booth, which seems pretty genius. The sheet idea is difficult with a 10 month old who will not lay still and rolls over and crawls away the second you lay her on her back.
Atlanta is supposed to get some snow the next two nights so we are hoping (though not expecting) that some of it will stick! How is the weather where you are?
MG is so stinking cute!!! 🙂 I bet you're super excited about cruising, too!
