My daughter has had extremely sensitive skin since birth. One of the things we have to be very careful about is what type of baby wipes we use, as that is the most common thing that causes a bad reaction on her. That’s why I quickly took to creating my own wipe solutions, and I need both cloth and disposable. If y’all follow me on Instagram, you already know that last week I attended an awesome event where I was introduced to Viva® Vantage® paper towels and given the task to find some fun ways to incorporate them into our lives and switch up our routine. As I was already making my own wipes, I figured why not make baby wipes using Viva® Vantage®? I figured the texture, stretchy-strength, and great scrubbing power of the towels would make them into great wipes – and I was right.
Here’s all you need:
1 Container: I like food storage ones that are around the same size and shape as wipes. You could also use old hard wipe cases!
1 Roll Viva® Vantage®
1 Cup Warm Water
3 Tablespoons Baby Bath Wash
1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
Here’s what you do:
Cut the roll of paper towels so that they will fit into the container you’ve chosen and are around the same size as typical baby wipes. This was the hardest part for me!
Remove the cardboard roll from the towel roll that you’ve cut off. Place the towels into the container. Pull out the first towel from the middle so that they unroll correctly.
Mix the wash into the warm water. Then stir in coconut oil. Evenly distribute the mixture over the towels in the container. Allow some time for the mixture to soak into the paper towels and then your wipes are ready to use!
These are also great to keep in the car to clean up any on-the-go messes!
At the Viva® Vantage® event in Atlanta we used the Viva® Vantage® to help clean ingredients to make pizza and I was blown away by how well they held up!

I have always wanted to try this!!!! You have motivated me to give it a shot. Definitely pinning to try this weekend.
I wanted to make my own wipes when my kids were babies, heck, I think I'll still try this out even though they're older. I still use baby wipes to clean messy faces and hands, so this is perfect! Thanks for sharing 🙂
This is so cost-effective! What a great DIY, thanks so much for sharing 🙂
We have a little one with the same sensitive skin issues – can't wait to give your recipe a try! We're also sold on the Viva brand. After a major cleaning (and some major scrubbing) in our home reno, these towels held up like a pro and were ready to take on more. You just can't ask for more than that!
