Christmas present wrapping has always had a special place in my heart. I used to love helping my mom do it and still get really excited now to close myself up in a room and wrap all the gifts. I’ve learned over time that you can make gifts really special for people simply based on how your wrap them. It’s just all part of the experience and the magic of the holidays. My gifts have over time become Christmas crafts where I’ve started making them extra special by coloring on them myself (and letting Maddie Grace take a turn as well).
It’s fun to have a night with hot chocolate and the fireplace burning and just let your imagination take over to decorate the presents you will be giving. I use brown craft paper to wrap the gifts, Prismacolor markers to decorate them, and then finish them off with some pretty ribbon. I try to keep my drawings simple (I’m no professional artist) with Holiday sayings, decorative wording, and easy to draw things like wreaths, trees, and of course our favorite jolly old man’s face.
Have children? I love the idea of letting my kids help decorate the presents they will be giving loved ones this year. Since it’s on craft paper those loved ones can cut out the drawings and keep them around! They might cherish those even more than what’s inside the gift!
I used Prismacolor markers that I picked up at Michaels for decorating these gifts.
Do you do anything special for wrapping holiday gifts? I’d love to hear some of your traditions below!
This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Prismacolor, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #relaxandcolor http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I love this ! I love making homemade gifts like canning and other goodies but never thought to decorate your own paper. I need to do this next year !
Cute idea! I'm all about DIY and putting my personal touch on things so this is right up my street 🙂

This is such a great way to get creative with gift wrap! I love drawing and doodling, so getting brown paper and adding designs would be so much fun!
I love the idea of having your children help decorate the packaging! I like to use a lot of plain Kraft paper for wrapping anyway, so this would be perfect for us, my kids would love it!
