I get asked a lot by friends about different baby products – what we used, what we didn’t use, and when it comes to monitors I’m never sure what to say. We got a great one when we were expecting Maddie Grace, but we hardly use it. Our house isn’t huge, our walls are thin so I hear her the second she starts crying. She slept in our room the first 6 months, and to be honest I was always too lazy to charge the screen and carry it around with me – I know most moms, especially first time moms, live by their monitors though and that I was the exception. But I think I’ve found the solution to my problems in the iBaby Monitor M6T – and this mom who didn’t use a monitor the first 18 months of motherhood now loves having one and using it.
The iBaby Monitor M6T has lots of amazing features, but my favorite is that instead of having a screen piece (if there is a better term for this please let me know) to carry around it connects to your phone via Wi-Fi/3G/4G LTE so all you have to do is open the app to check on your baby. And yes, you can pull up the app even when not at home. So if you have a babysitter for a night out, or want to check in during nap time while you’re at work, all you have to do is pull up the app. That part makes my husband’s day. Lots of times when Maddie Grace wakes up from her nap she starts saying the funniest things and I tell him when to open up the app and tune in for her “Where’s mommy? Where’s daddy?” singing time. The other night we were at Tom’s Christmas party and his mom was babysitting and I tuned in to check and see if she was asleep and sure enough she was! We don’t even have the fastest Wi-Fi but I have no problems at all with any lag time using the monitor – no buffering, no loading problems, just real time access to watching your child sleep.
This monitor features a crystal clear 720p High Resolution display on your phone – but of course that’s when lights are on. Since my child sleep sin the dark we mostly use it on the night vision though which is still very clear black and white. Another really cool aspect of the iBaby Monitor M6T is that it has 360 degree coverage of your baby’s room by just swiping your finger on the screen. This probably isn’t really necessary, but it’s nice to be able to look around the room some.
I have a lot of fun using the app to record Maddie Grace when she does her funny talking waking up in the morning or from naps, and text these videos to friends and family. You can also use the app to talk to your child or play music for them. I don’t really use either of these features though. Additionally the app tells you the temperature and humidity in the nursery so that you can be sure that it’s comfortable for your baby.
It was super easy to set up the iBaby Monitor M6T and get the app set up on our phones. It comes with easy instructions and really just takes downloading the free app and plugging your phone into the monitor to get them synced up. I also like the way the camera looks – it fits in well with our nursery. The iBaby M6T retails for $249 but the best deal I found on it is on the iBaby website for $199.95. I’m so glad that we will have this monitor to use from the very beginning with baby #2!
That looks awesome! We never used a Wifi monitor with Naomi and I'm kind of glad we didn't so I couldn't stare at her every waking moment we were out 🙂 But we're looking at some for baby #2, so maybe this is the one!
It's definitely worth checking out! I can't believe I never used a monitor before now at all haha it's so useful!
I LOVE our monitor and still use it all of the time to check on our daughter. 🙂 I think I'd love the phone tie-in capabilities with this one!
