It’s that time of year where it’s warm enough to want to engage in water activities with your little ones, but none of the pools are open yet. Since my toddler is constantly on the go, I’m always looking for little learning activities to keep her busy, and thought that a DIY pool noodle water wall was the perfect spring and summer toddler activity to do just that.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 Sheet Peg Board
3 Pool Noodles
Zip Ties
Scissors
So here’s how to do it:
(1) Collect supplies. I also picked up a water bottle with a handle for easy toddler pouring and buckets to collect the water in at the bottom of the noodles. However my little one decided that the buckets weren’t necessary though and kept throwing them to the side.
(2) Have fun with arranging the noodles, and secure them in place by tying them onto the peg board with the zip ties. For my 2 year old I found it easiest to do the peg board horizontally and cut the noodles so she could pour the water in the different noodles herself. For older kids it would also be fun to position the board and noodles vertically.
(3) Choose a wall to prop your water wall up against. It gets really wet so you’ll ideally want it outside but on a surface that won’t get muddy.
(4) Start pouring water down the wall and have a blast!
Since this activity gets really wet you will want to make sure you dress your tot appropriately, and don’t forget the Huggies® Little Swimmers® Disposable Swimpants! The special Finding Dory packaging is adorable – Maddie Grace got really excited for “fishies!” and they do a great job of making sure there are no unpleasant accidents while having water fun. I love that the side tabs open easily for diaper changing and that they don’t swell when wet. You’ll find them at Sam’s Club in the diaper aisle!
Right now (2/1/16 – 6/1/16) there is an awesome photo contest going on with Sams Club.
