So I didn’t actually do any running or participating in rock n’ roll this weekend, but my husband did and I went along with the kids to support him so that counts for something right? I mean really waking up both kids ridiculously early, packing them up in the car, dropping my husband off at the race, trying to find parking close (ish) to the finish line unpacking the kids, finding a way to keep them occupied even though they were zombies for 1.5 hours, and then working our way to the finish line to see daddy cross it… I practically earned a medal. But it was 100% worth it! This was my husbands 6th year doing the Savannah Rock N’ Roll Half Marathon (I did it with him the first 2) and it is a blast each year!

We got to Savannah on Friday. Tom took the day off so we could leave in the morning but of course it took us so long to get our stuff together we didn’t leave until noon. We checked out the expo (which is always too crowded to really do anything at) and then went ahead and headed to my dad’s house. Saturday we woke up ridiculously early, dropped Tom off for the race, and got to watch the sun rise downtown. Afterwards we went to a friends house that is right on Forsyth Park and over the finish line for a little post race party. Sunday we just spent time with my dad and had some family photos taken that I can not wait to share with all of you!
So since I haven’t talked about our lives lately I think it’s pretty obvious I’ve been in over my head with everything going on and a little bit busy. Maddie Grace pretty much demands my attention any time she is not at school, and we’ve been working hard on doing less screen time and more reading, coloring, and learning activities (I’m going to be writing up my favorite ones soon!). She loves to play, take care of baby dolls, talk about sea monsters, and always is wanting to “find a friend” everywhere we go. Tripp is clapping, standing, and loves raising his arms up when we say “how big is bubby?” He’s become a bit of a mama’s boy recently and always wants me to be holding him and giving him attention.
With all the traveling we’ve had going on I’m still behind on laundry and putting things away. I can’t wait to get that taken care of and feel like life is finally back to normal… and then we will pick up and leave for Thanksgiving. But that’s okay. We have lots of fun family activities coming up for the holidays that I’m super excited about!
