Being a mom changes you in so many ways. And I mean physically and mentally. The second you become a mom (or dad) your skin starts to show age more. Maybe it’s the lack of sleep. And then there’s the stress and the hormones that wreak all types of havoc on your skin. And another way I’ve changed is in becoming more aware of what types of products I use on both my kids and myself. Long gone are the days of using stuff full of chemicals. Now I’m all about natural skincare because I want to live as long as possible. And I want to make sure those sweet kids are raised in an environment with as little disease causing chemicals as possible. Because of these reasons I’ve turned to a natural, plant-based skincare routine. I can get the same amazing results (possibly even better) without the harmful ingredients.
Here’s what my skincare routine looks like. I do the same thing morning and night:
Step 1: Wash and dry face. I use a mild face wash clear of any dyes or perfumes. I’ve always been told that what you use to wash your face doesn’t matter as much as what you use afterwards and I’ve always found that to be correct. About 1-2 times a week I do like to get a deeper clean and exfoliation of my face. For that I use the Eva Naturals Arabica Coffee Scrub. This is actually marketed towards helping get rid of cellulite but it also helps deep clean the face and brighten skin as it buffs away dull skin. It is a natural acne treatment and helps reduce the appearance of veins!
Step 2: Tone and exfoliate. There are lots of natural toner and exfoliators on the market, or there are even tutorials for how to make them yourself!
Step 3: Serum. This is where it becomes difficult to find a natural product that works well at fighting aging and overall improves the appearance of skin. But Eva Naturals has nailed it with their Peptide Complex Serum. This stuff has made a huge difference for my skin and has done so quickly. It’s full of peptides which help your skin produce more collagen, and hyaluronic acid to make your skin glow! The serum will help reduce scarring, give you an even tone, firm and soften skin. Plus it’s an amazing price for what it does.
This is the one step where I use a different product depending on time of day. During my night routine I replace the Peptide Complex Serum with the Eva Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum. Retinol is definitely known as an anti-aging go to, and 2.5% is a fairly potent amount for a serum! In addition to the retinol it has hyaluronic acid, jojoba, Vitamin E, and antioxidant-rich Green Tea. I put this on at night and wake up to even-toned, amazing looking skin that glows in the morning.
Step 4: Moisturize. And this means moisturize both morning and night. This is one of the most important anti-aging steps in your skincare routine so do not skip it. I use the Eva Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Cream and can’t say enough good things about it. It smoothes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and helps produce collagen. Oh and that’s in addition to moisturizing the skin and ensuring you have no dry patches. A good moisturizer like this one will also help with oil control for those of us with super oily skin.
Consistency is really key with any skincare routine. The amazing products from Eva Naturals work wonders but you do have to remember to do the full skincare routine both morning and night to see the best results. Does your skincare routine look like this? I’d love to hear all about it below!
