I’m sharing CURAD® in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™ #CURAD #SoothePlus
When you think of Atlanta, words like business, urban, industrial, and professional are probably what come to mind. Not family friendly, creative, etc. But one thing that has really surprised me about Atlanta is the emphasis on kids, families, and the effort that is made to provide fun places for children to play. We’ve got playgrounds and parks galore. In fact, I haven’t even had a chance to make it to every playground in Atlanta, and I’ve been to a lot of freaking playgrounds. So this list is really the top 5 playgrounds in Atlanta that I’ve been to. And how did I judge them? Equipment, creativity, setting, and safety. And because accidents tend to happen at playgrounds, I’m sharing a big safety tip with CURAD® below! So let’s get started:
The Airport Park – Yes I put this at the top of our list and this is actually the park that all of the pictures in this post were taken at. This playground is right next to Peachtree-Dekalb Airport, located in north Atlanta. It’s right along the runway so you can watch planes takeoff and land which is what really makes the playground special. My kids just love this place. There are swings facing the runway, and a great tower/slide structure which underneath is made to look like the inside of an airplane which is my daughter’s favorite part. There is a covered picnic area and restrooms, and a restaurant next door if you didn’t bring your own food.
Inman Park – We lived in Inman Park years ago before we had kids, so we never ventured over to the playground, which is actually technically in Springvale Park which is within the Inman Park neighborhood. But this playground is very cool. It’s not a playground that gets a ton of attention so I kind of think of it as a hidden gem. The park is really serene and in an area surrounded by gorgeous homes. And this playground has cool, unique equipment that I haven’t seen anywhere else, and probably one of the prettiest settings on this list. I showed my kids playing at this park on my Instagram stories once and had a ton of people ask me where it was so you know it stood out!
Brook Run Park – This is the playground we go to most frequently as it’s close to our house and just outside the perimeter in Dunwoody. What really makes this playground stand out is that it has three different little areas for different ages that are all covered, perfect for the hot, sunny days we get plenty of around here. And there’s a ton of different equipment for the kids. During the summer they have a stream that kids can splash in as well which my kids love. There are also plenty of trails for walking here for before/after playground time and there are lots of activities and food truck nights at this park.
Mason Mill Park – I wasn’t sure whether to include this because it’s probably my least favorite scenery wise, but it has a pirate ship that my kids think is the coolest thing ever so I had to put it in on here. It is a large playground with a separate little playground for toddlers, although Maddie Grace was drawn towards the three story treehouse (aka a heart attack for me). This might be the one playground that my kids love but it isn’t my favorite.
Wills Park – Okay this one isn’t technically in Atlanta, but about 30 minutes north in the suburb of Alpharetta. And trust me, it’s worth the drive from the city. This playground reminds me of a wooden fortress. There is so many different things for the kids to do and a lot of things that inspire imaginative play which I really appreciate. The park also has a pool and splash pad so this is a great park to come spend the whole day at.
Of course anywhere we go there’s a good chance that one of my kids is going to get injured, so I make sure to bring along some first aid essentials. And these photos aren’t staged I promise – Maddie Grace had just fallen into the bench she’s sitting on and scratched her leg up and needed something to stop the blood. No matter where we go I make sure we have CURAD® SoothePlus™ with ARM & HAMMER™ medium non-stick pads in my purse or in the car where I can grab it easily. These are infused with naturally soothing ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda which help eliminate bacterial odors. I love that I can take care of my kids using the best products available that are even hospital approved.
