If you’re looking for the top picks of the Nordstrom beauty sale just scroll down, first we are going to talk about my current beauty routine.I got super excited about a PR box that showed up at my front door last week. It was full of goodies from one of my favorite brands, IT Cosmetics. I went through it right away, doing some videos on Instagram stories and on my Facebook beauty group, and after using them a while feel like I can finally figure out which ones I can call FAVORITES. Which got me thinking how I hadn’t really done a beauty/makeup blog post in quite some time. So here it goes. All the products I’m using right now.
I know it seems like a lot. But I like beauty products. Whatever. My routine also significantly changes based on what I’m doing that day. I have a heavy makeup and a light makeup routine. But after skincare, if I’m going heavy I throw on primer and my go to primer is the Dior Capture Totale DreamSkin Advanced. This stuff is pricey but so so so good. It has a little tint to it and makes my skin soft and smooth and it keeps my makeup in place. Now on days where I’m just hanging out with the kiddos, I reach for the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream. The cream has a moderate coverage and also takes the place of moisturizer and serum, and I love that it has SPF in it. I know a lot of girls who have totally replaced their foundation with it!
After foundation is of course concealer. After hearing just about every beauty blogger talk about the Tarte Shape Tape concealer I had to go to Ulta and try it. And now I’m just as obsessed with it. It provides amazing coverage while being easy to work with and not sticky like some other ones are. It doesn’t fall into my lines and stays in place. I follow it up with setting powder, for which I use the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores. I actually just recently switched to this after learning my previous setting powder had talc in it — this one doesn’t which is awesome, and also doesn’t have parabens or synthetic fragrance. But it does have all types of anti-aging benefits. I highly recommend taking a look at whatever setting powder you use and if it does have talc in it toss it and try this one out!
I top of setting powder with bronzer to contour my face a little bit. This is something I’ve played around with and tried a few different ones I like. Because of my oily skin I always do a matte bronzer though. Some of my favorites are Benefit’s Hula (on sale!), IT Cosmetic’s Sunshine in a Compact, and Pixi’s Natural Contour Powder. For blush right now I’m obsessed with the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Blush that was in this last PR box. I’m not big on heavy blush color and this gives me just enough and is also super sparkly so I use it as a highlighter as well. It’s a gorgeous peachy pink with a hint of gold that I just can’t get enough of.
Then I move onto me eyes of course! I have very oily eyelids and my holy grail eyelid primer as long as I can remember is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer. I’ve tried others in an attempt to save money but nothing works as well as this stuff. Plus a bottle of it lasts me forever so it is worth it. I switch up what eyeshadows I use just about every day but if I had to pick 2 must have eyeshadow palettes out of all of the ones I have tried, I would say Urban Decay’s Naked 2, and Lancome’s Auda[CITY] in Paris. (All of this eye stuff is on sale right now so this is the time to get it!) For eyeliner my new go to is the IT Cosmetics Superhero Liner. It is like a pen and so easy to put on straight! It looks really smooth and stays in place. I finish off my eyes by curling my lashes and throwing on some mascara – I’m obsessed with the Dior Pump N’ Volume Mascara. It can be a little clumpy but if you are sure to wipe off the brush well before applying it looks amazing and gives so much length and volume. And can’t forget eyebrows – although sometimes I do! I typically use a pencil like the IT Cosmetics Brow Power lightly over mine buuut I just discovered the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade and was super impressed with it and it’s staying power so that’s going to be what I use when I do heavier looks now.
Last but not least I throw on some lipstick before heading out the door. The Bobbi Brow Art Sticks are a favorite of mine, but I just got the Ciate Glitter Flip and if you follow me you know I’m obsessed with it (it’s what I’m wearing in the picture above). I have it in the shade Candy and it starts matte but somehow magically becomes glittery when you press your lips together. Crazy. I know. It’s transfer proof and long wearing and I think it’s just great.
