When we found out we were expecting another baby all the way back in June (woah) it was a complete shock. We knew we wanted a third baby eventually but the timing was… not great. We were looking for a new house and hadn’t sold our house yet, and the thought of juggling 3 kids under the age of 4 was… unappealing. Also Tripp was in the midst of a super difficult stage (I swear from 1-2 is just a battle) and I was absolutely terrified instead of being filled of excitement as I felt I should have been, which made me feel even worse.
Pretty much immediately after I found out I was pregnant, and still in a nervous frenzy, I got online and did a baby due date calculator to figure out when this baby might be coming. I’m pretty good about tracking things so I put in the exact dates and one thing that instantly made me feel better about our ‘omg another baby is coming what are we going to do’ situation was when that calculator gave me the date. February 14th, 2018. A Valentine’s baby. Cue heart melting.
And things started to fall into place, as they tend to do. We bought a new house, moved, got settled in, got both the kids in a part time preschool program, Tripp grew out of his stage – he turned 2 and started being able to communicate and things got easier. And here we are expecting baby #3 any day now as I write this and could not be more excited or thrilled for her upcoming arrival.
We found out that baby #3 was a girl sometime in August I think. Having a boy and a girl I know that there are definite ups and downs to both. And as much as I love having a little boy, he’s seriously so much fun right now, something in me really wanted another girl. There were multiple reasons: one being that I felt Maddie Grace would benefit more from a sister than Tripp from a brother, but also because being a girl myself I relate so much more to the girly stuff. The clothes, the colors, the dress up and activities (I might push ballet just a little bit). A Valentine’s baby girl. That’s good stuff.
So this year what I wanted for Valentine’s Day was jewelry to commemorate our baby girl on the way. And for special jewelry my favorite place to go to is James Avery, so I’m glad they have several locations around Atlanta. James Avery is so much more than just jewelry. It’s a symbol of faithfulness and strong held beliefs. It’s a way to hold loved ones and special memories close even when they are far away. It’s more than just jewelry or a store – it’s a part of your story.
I went to James Avery with this all in mind to pick out some special pieces for our sweet Valentine’s baby girl. The first thing I picked out was this gorgeous pearl chain link bracelet. Pearls always remind me of baby girls and pearl jewelry has always been my favorite. When Maddie Grace was born Tom gave me a really pretty pearl bracelet that pairs perfectly with this one. Then I came across these sweet bow earrings. I knew I needed them. I’ve had kind of a bow theme going for this new baby and been buying her tons of outfits and even a bonnet with a sweet pink bow embroidered on it. I know that any time I wear this jewelry I’ll think of our Valentine’s baby and it’s definitely a way to keep her close to my heart even when she grows up and goes on her own way.

Congratulations! I have a boy and a girl and it’s so much fun! I love your earring! So cute 🙂
I love bows & girly stuff also. I had to wait a long time … 3 boys under 3 & finally a girl when the oldest boy turned 7. I may need to get these bows or ask the hubs 🙂
