If you watch my Instagram stories you know I’ve gotten really into working out at Burn Boot Camp. I love it – I can really see my strength increasing, I’m having fun, and really like the whole community. There’s no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to finding a fitness routine that works for you and I know boot camp isn’t for everyone but so far I’m loving it. Since I pretty much just workout and then run kids around, and occasionally play tennis as well, I’m currently living in my workout clothes. Active leggings, a tank top, and tennis shoes are pretty much my uniform – and I don’t hate it. I have used this as an excuse to buy a ton of activewear lately to try to find what works best for my life. I’ve tried a lot of different brands in search for what clothes are comfortable, can hold up well for a workout (ie squat proof, compression, and don’t show sweat), and of course they have to be cute. So far I’ve ordered from: Lululemon, Fabletics, GymShark, Marika and Kiava and am ready to report to y’all my thoughts on all of them. None of this was sponsored or gifted (but I did take advantage of sales) so my opinion is completely unweighted. Here we go….
I’m starting with my favorite of everything I ordered. I’ve actually tried Fabletics in the past (and blogged about it) and had mixed thoughts, but it was about 5 years ago so I decided to give them a try again without super high hopes. But oh my goodness I was blown away. First of all the price. I ordered over Labor Day weekend when they had a deal going on for 70% off if you signed up for their VIP membership. It didn’t require any extra payment up front and it’s a $49.95 monthly payment that you can pause or cancel at any time and every time you do pay it you get that much credit towards buying from them, and you get special pricing on top of that and occasional promos. You also get points for orders and reviewing items that add up to different rewards. I don’t love the auto billing setup but whatever, I signed up for it but immediately went ahead and paused my first monthly payment, and then my second, so that I’ll have time to decide if I really want to do that or not. So anyways for under $100 I got: 2 pairs of leggings, 2 sports bras, a jacket, a pair of shoes, and a headband. That’s insane. Long story short I love everything except the sports bras.
The leggings are awesome. Both pairs I purchased are really cute, and I love the big pockets on the sides of the Oasis leggings. Unlike Lululemon leggings I have with pockets these ones are big enough to hold a phone or a tennis ball, which is essential. I can easily do squats in them without worrying that they are see through, they are compressing in the stomach and high waisted while still being comfortable enough to sleep in. And they hold up great during workouts and don’t show sweat stains. So all in all they are amazing. Both leggings I ordered are a size medium and 7/8 length which is perfect for me.
I’m also obsessed with the Rosalia Performance Jacket that I ordered. It’s the prettiest pink color and has really nice detailing like thumb holes and lots of pockets. I also was surprised by how much I love the headband and shoes. Seriously the shoes I’ve worn for both cardio and lifting days and they are awesome. Super supportive and comfortable, and I like the way they look. And the headband stays on better than any other workout headbands that I have (I have several from Lululemon and Athleta that fall off on cardio day and this one doesn’t).
If you’d like to try Fbletics and want to use my link I will get some credit which I would so appreciate!
This was my second favorite recent athletic wear purchase. I’ve just heard of GymShark on Instagram and TikTok but I love how they look so figured I’d try some and ordered the Energy+ leggings in the cropped and full length. Long story short for these leggings: they make your booty look amazing. I’m not sure how leggings can possibly change how your body look and still be comfortable but they do. They somehow lift your but, flatten your tummy, and also are super cute with some nice crochet detailing that makes them stand out. They stay up great during workouts, don’t show sweat, and are decently comfortable. Would I sleep in these? No. But wear them all day after working out? Yes. I’m definitely wanting to try more leggings from GymShark. I will say I ordered two tops (everything I ordered, tops and bottom, were size medium) as well and they are waaaay too tight (the leggings run a little small too in my opinion) so if you are in between sizes or want a looser fit I would size up.
I’ve been a Lulu fan since before having kids. In general their stuff fits well, holds up in workouts, but I hate what they cost. But for the sake of comparing them to the other brands here I ordered some Pace Rival crops and a top both of which were on sale and are now sold out. And both of these fell short for me. While the leggings are a classic and great for running errands or lounging around I find myself constantly pulling them up during workouts. It’s awful and I’ll probably sell them. They do fit well though but I found several of the less expensive options from my shopping haul to be both more comfortable and more flattering. And the top while a pretty color and a nice fabric for working out is huge! I’m not sure how they got the fit so wrong on this. I always wear a size 10 in Lululemon tops and in this I would probably need a 4 for it to fit well. I can tie a knot in it and it will work but I might sell it instead.
Okay I have never heard of this brand until their ads showed up in my Facebook feed nonstop. And I guess their marketing worked because when I saw they were having a Labor Day sale I figured why not give them a try. People in the comments of the Facebook ads seemed to like their stuff and it looked cute. So I added some crops, a sports bra, and a tank top to my cart and checked out. And my long story short for this? Don’t like. Once again I ordered a size medium for all of these. The crops were tight, and I’m pretty sure I heard something tear while trying to get them on (although I don’t see anything wrong with them). They are a nice smooth fabric but I didn’t find them to be super flattering or comfortable. The top is an awful fit as you’ll see in this picture. It falls down way too low and isn’t very flattering. Again nice fabric but I can’t do that fit. And the sports bra isn’t bad but also isn’t super supportive.
This is a new brand to me that I’ll have to find a picture of later but I’m fairly impressed. I ordered when they had get 1 top and 1 bottom for $29 so I got some cute laser cut leggings and a long sleeve top and am pretty impressed with both of them. Again I ordered a size medium in both and they are both a great fit and the leggings are pretty comfortable. They aren’t my absolute favorites but for the price I thought they were pretty good and the whole outfit is soft and cute and great for running errands in. Would I pay full price for the outfit? No way. But Marika always seems to be running some type of deal so I’m going to stay on their email list serve and would order again if something cute was on sale!
Well there you have it. If you have thoughts on any of these or have a brand I need to try let me know!
