I hope everyone had an amazing weekend, we sure did! One thing we did this weekend was take Maddie Grace to the pool for the first time. Of course, she slept in her carseat in the shade the whole time we were there, but it was so much fun for us to get out and spend time with friends. Even though we knew we were going to keep her out of the sun the whole time we were there, we still put Honest sunscreen on her (safe for babies under 6 months) and dressed her in a SwimZip UV50+ swimsuit.Did any of you see SwimZip when they were on Shark Tank? I did and remember being blown away by their passion for sun protection. We are all about sun protection in our house. I’ll admit I haven’t always been (i.e. college), but now that I’ve seen how terrible and how common skin cancer is I want to make sure we are doing everything possible to protect ourselves and our baby, especially since skin cancer runs in both sides of our family. Betsy, the founder of SwimZip, was diagnosed with skin cancer at 26 years old. This inspired her to create a line of skin protecting swimwear so that her children may not have to go through anything similar in the future. SwimZip suits are made in sizes newborn through 10 years (they also make adult suits and coverups for all ages) and feature zip up rash guard tops, making them super easy to get on and off. If you have a baby girl this also means easier diaper changes than with a one piece. Not only are SwimZip suits functional, protective, and affordable, but they are also super cute. Maddie Grace has been wearing the Daddy’s Girl suit in a size 6-12 months. Yes she’s not even 2 months yet, and it is baggy on her, but it’s really not that big on her so I do think these must run a little small. She will grow into it nicely though and it should last us a while. Plus it’s the cutest swimsuit ever.
How MG does the pool – in her SwimZip in the shade with Wubs.
Once again, I want to share this great find with all of you. I’m given away $20 store credit to SwimZip as well as $20 to my store to celebrate me spending more time on it again. For all you boy mamas I make bracelets as well as bows so you can use it on one of those!
I love this idea!! Much easier than reapplying sunscreen every 10 seconds.
