Maddie Grace: 4 Months

My sweet Madeline Grace, Maddie Grace, MG, Snugs, and occasionally still Fuss Monster.

We love all the names we have for our sweet girl… yes even that last one.

Maddie Grace is still our favorite thing in the entire world. She has become so animated and full of spirit.  She wants to move so badly – I have to apologize in advance that the following pictures are all blurry because I can not get her to be still!  Overall MG is a happy baby – smiling constantly and laughing occasionally, although her mood can change instantly from smiling to frowning. But even her frown is adorable, the way she sticks out her bottom lip and pouts for a few seconds before the crying ensues. She loves reading books, playing with her toys, going places where there is a lot to see, chewing on any and everything, and pulling out all of mama’s hair (Tom says she must want me to be bald like her).  About a week ago she discovered her feet and now grabs them constantly, and smiles the biggest smile when she does.

MG has done a lot more rolling over lately, and she manages to push herself around when laying on her tummy or back.  She reaches for the toys on her gym and Mamaroo and is so excited when she actually grabs them.  She has figured out how to shake two of her little seats to make the hanging toys on them shake, and loves to do that while smiling at the toys.  She’s even figured out how to grab the tabs of her disposable diapers and pull them off, which resulted in a really messy situation yesterday afternoon.  Maddie girl loves to make noises and sing – especially if you’re watching TV or talking on the phone or have something you want to listen to. She has started doing a high pitched shriek both when happy and mad that is not a pleasant sound, but I still love it.

Madeline is a tall baby.  At 25 3/4 inches she is in the 94th percentile for height and at 15.05 pounds she dropped to the 80th percentile for weight.  And MG must have a disproportionately small head since that is only in the 38th percentile.  She has outgrown most of her 6 month clothes because of her length and we are now on to 9 months.

My favorite thing this month? The laughs for sure.  Maddie Grace makes you work for it but it is so worthwhile.  Sometimes she will laugh at funny faces or noises we make. sometimes when we tickle her, and sometimes when we play airplane, which is her favorite game.
