Once again we had a fun, amazing, very busy weekend, and now I need the week to recover, although there is so much cleaning and laundry to be done I certainly have my hands full. As I keep telling my friends: I might get lonely, yes, but never bored because my general to-do list is never ending.
I managed to leave behind my nice camera for the entire weekend so all pictures are from my falling apart iPhone 5… Ready to upgrade to the iPhone 6 any day now but still trying to figure out how to get it without having it shipped to my dad’s house in Savannah.
Started off the weekend with dinner and a marg at our favorite Mexican restaurant, which is seriously right down the road from our house. It’s cheap, simple, amazing Mexican food, which is my favorite type. I get annoyed when places try to do fancy Mexican food – it never tastes as good, and costs 3 times what these types of places do. Afterwards we went to TJ Maxx (some serious Friday night fun right there) where my husband kept finding the ugliest outfits, and bringing them for me to look out, which was causing me to laugh loudly – I thought they were going to kick us out. Thankfully they didn’t. We went to bed early because we knew we had a long day ahead of us on Saturday.
>Saturday we tried to get up bright and early, but actually slept later than planned, to go to the Georgia football game. We were playing Troy so it wasn’t a huge game, but we thought it would be a good first game for Maddie Grace. It was a gorgeous day and ended up being perfect weather for taking a baby to a game.
One of the things we really enjoyed was just being on campus again and walking around. I love that we are able to show Maddie Grace where mommy and daddy met and started dating and where we both spent the best pre-baby years of our lives. We are already hopeful that she will continue in our steps and be a Dawg one day!
We held MG on our laps, and put the Shaidee on to block the sun for most of the game. Maddie Grace did great and seemed to enjoy watching the game and all the excitement around her.<
After the game we watched some other games at a friends tailgate on campus and enjoyed spending time with them and their sweet 6 week old little boy! From there we headed to downtown Athens and went to a pizza spot where we could sit outside and eat and have some beers before heading back to Atlanta. A family friend who is a freshman joined us which was really nice, and we had a great time, except one drunk guy that wouldn’t leave us alone. Oh the ups and downs of college towns!
Sunday was one of my dear friends, and husbands fraternity brother’s wife’s, baby shower for a sweet little boy coming in December! We could not be more excited to be adding another baby to our framily. The shower was whale/nautical themed and SO cute.
Here’s to another Monday!
