Hi there! I’m Ali from Dream Crafter! I am so excited to share this simple little craft with you today. And a big thank you to Claire for having me today. I am obsessed with her sense of style and her fabulous tips and tricks!
Today I’m gonna show you how to make this bad boy:
I know what you are thinking…why would anyone need a mini piñata? Well, they wouldn’t. But they are just so fun! Have you seen those tiny donkey piñatas they sell? Well I thought it might be fun to have a Thanksgiving themed one. How fun would these be to set at each kids place setting at Thanksgiving dinner? Or as a favor for your guests?
This was so simple to make I thought about making a bunch of them and “piñata bombing” some of my friends for Thanksgiving.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own.
Plastic or Paper cup
Black card stock or construction paper
Yellow construction paper
Glue or tape
Candy and confetti to fill it up!
Here’s what I put in mine. Start by cutting your cup to the right height (or just start with a smaller cup) and cut a circle out of black construction paper. Fill your cup with candy and confetti and tape your cup to the circle. Make it really strong.
Next, take your black construction paper and cut it into long strips and start fringing it. As you wrap it around the cup, either glue or tape it in place.<
Continue wrapping until the shoe thing is covered in black fringe. Then cute a little yellow buckle and use the ribbon for the strap. Glue it all in place and you’re done!
Thanks for letting me stop by and share with you! To see what other things I am dreaming up, head on over to Dream Crafter or follow me on Facebook, Tsu, or Instagram!
