My husband has always found my love of scones to be odd.  I think it’s odd though that he doesn’t love scones. I love their texture, taste, and really everything about them. Naturally enough when we were engaged I put a scone pan on our registry, and we were lucky enough to receive one as a wedding gift. I’ve used it a few times since then, and have figured out the perfect scone recipe. I love pears, especially in the Fall, so today I’m sharing with you an easy pear scone recipe. Don’t have a scone pan? That’s perfectly fine, you don’t need one (although you can always buy one here
). These are light, flavorful, and delicious. They are great served with tea, or without tea as a little snack. Even my 7 month old loves them.  Let’s get started!
Here’s what you need:
1/2 Cup Sugar
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
1 3/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Half and Half
1 Ripe Chopped Pear (About 1 1/2 – 2 Cups)
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Allspice
Here’s what you do:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease your scone pan or cookie sheet. Chop up your pear.
Using an electric mixer or mixing by hand, mix your flour, salt, baking powder, brown sugar, cinnamon, and allspice. Chop your butter into slices (do not soften) and add that as well, mixing until mixture is crumbly.
In a separate bowl whisk your egg and half and half. Add this to the flour mixture. Stir in the pear pieces. At this point your batter should look like this:
Either pour your mixture into your greased scone pan
or drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet (you can always try to arrange your batter into scone shapes if you’d like).
or drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet (you can always try to arrange your batter into scone shapes if you’d like).
Bake around 20-25 minutes, until your scones are golden brown.
Enjoy!
What’s your favorite fall recipe?
Like your husband, I've never been much of a scone person. Muffins are more up my alley. But I've been trying to bake more, and these sound so fresh and delicious!
They are delicious! Very similar to muffins!
I LOVE scones too and I do not yet have Pear recipe so I am bookmarking this! I even shared it on my Pinterest 🙂 Thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing! Hope you enjoy!
These look SO yummy! I love pears 🙂 I'll definitely have to save this recipe for later!
If you love pears then you will love these 🙂

Let me know if you do and how it goes!
Wow I've never heard or tried this before but it looks so interesting. Can you have it with cream and jam? I'm so curious lol…
I suppose you could! You can have them however you like! They are similar to muffins!
I am deeply in love with scones–especially when they are slathered in clotted cream and strawberry jam. You won't have to ask me twice to eat these! 🙂
Hope you enjoy 🙂
I LOVE scones! They're so yummy (and who doesn't love pears?!) I can't wait to try this recipe <3
Let me know how it goes!

I never thought about adding pears to scone mix but looking delicious!
First looking at the picture, I thought it was brie and pears, which I LOVE. But scones? I need to make some scones now to go with my pears and brie 🙂
Can never have enough pears!!
My little guy loves pears – I bet he would go crazy for these!

Is it weird if I give these to my dog? She loves pears!
No, do it!!
These look yummy! I wonder if I could sub out the sugar for coconut sugar and have the same outcome?
I would think that would substitute fine but if it doesn't work don't blame me 🙂
I think I made something with pears once and it was disgusting, but I can't remember what it was. OH it was pancakes. Yes. It was terrible. I love pears, though. I'm just not sure I love them in pastries. 😉
Haha yeah I'm not sure about pear pancakes… you should really try the scones though 🙂
I love your scone dish! haha, I've never seen anything like it!
It comes in handy!
I've never seen a scone pan before – I need to get one!

Sounds like a yummy treat. I'd love to try it with a cup of coffee.
Perfect Combination!
I've never heard of pear scones before but these sound delicious!
YUM!!!! I'll have to give these a try soon!
These sound delicious. I love pears but rarely use them in recipes. That needs to change I think!
I love scones. I've only seen the kind that require kneading. I really want to try your recipe. It looks so good!
Oh yes I'm too lazy for recipes with kneading… these come out perfect though with no kneading!
These are the most delicious looking scones! I've never made a pear one. Love your photography too.
OMG! I think I just drooled looking at these photos. You make it look and sound so easy. I hope it is when I try it. 🙂
I have to admit, I've never seen scones this shape. Although they do look delicious! Do you guys have clotted cream where you are? These need a good dollop of clotted cream and some pear jam to top them off. They look delicious!
Katie <3
I don't think we do – at least I've never heard of it! I'll have to check to farmer's market and see if I can find any!
