I’m not sure why the long Thanksgiving weekend had to end. Oy vey.
This weekend. Amazing, wonderful, refreshing. I could do it again, if that was possible. Good thing we took approximately one million pictures so I can relive it through those, if I ever do anything with my pictures, since I’ve been to have some printed for about 7 months now.
Let’s see… Wednesday night my dad arrived and we invited my brother over as well for pizza. Because who doesn’t eat greasy soggy pizza the night before a holiday of eating.
Thursday we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. I always get really stressed out about hosting events in the week prior to the even, and then they always go wonderfully and I realize I spent a lot of time stressing and worrying for nothing. We had amazing food and quality family time with both sides of our family (minus my mom, who was on vacation in Rome, so I don’t really feel that bad for her). Maddie Grace had a blast enjoying all the Thanksgiving foods. Turns out she loves Turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry, and of course pumpkin pie filling. This girl seriously would never stop eating if it was up to her. I eventually just had to stop feeding her because she would have eaten our Thanksgiving feast all day long.
Friday we went for a hike at Sweetwater State Park (just outside of Atlanta) with my dad. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and we had a blast doing a 3+ mile hike in the gorgeous weather we had. MG slept almost the whole time but seemed to enjoy it.
Saturday I did some much needed shopping and mourned the end of another miserable college football season for Georgia. We also got our Christmas tree which we have started to decorate, but of course we have a ways to go on it, because heaven forbid MG allow us to hang up all the ornaments before demanding our attention with one thing or another.
Sunday was MG’s first visit with Santa Clause. One of the malls around here has a really fun Shrek Journey to Santa attraction that is free… except you aren’t allowed to bring in cameras and have to buy their pictures if you want pictures. The attraction was so fun, I was really impressed, but the pictures were just eh. If we could have seen them before buying I probably wouldn’t have, but no big deal, it was still an amazing experience and the perfect end to this weekend!
Now I’m hoping MG will want to cuddle all day while I shop the Cyber Monday deals. Something tells me that’s not likely though, and that she may have some issues adjusting to not having people around nonstop paying attention to her like she has had the past 4 days.
What did you get into this weekend? Anyone else resolving to diet all week to make up for their Thanksgiving transgressions?
That Santa Claus picture at the end, had me kind of giggling – never saw a Santa pic like that before! Love your daughter's thanksgiving dress, so sweet and festive!
