Has anyone out there not seen Big Hero 6? It’s one of my new favorite movies. I had never heard of it before seeing a preview on TV one day when it was still in theaters, but I was surprised to learn my husband had – apparently Big Hero 6 is also a comic book series. If you have children you have to get your hands on Big Hero 6. It’s cute, funny, endearing and action-packed… all the things I like in movies, which is why I picked it for our family movie night!
Maddie Grace is just now to the point where she enjoys watching movies, but only animated movies. We are starting to get sick of the few baby focused ones we have so it’s nice to find a movie that all 3 of us enjoy.
To celebrate Big Hero 6 coming out on video I came up with a fun and easy craft to make Baymax puppets for us to play with and interact with Maddie Grace with while watching the movie.
Making these puppets are pretty easy. DON’T use paper lunch bags. Instead use white 6″x9″ envelopes like the ones I found at Target. Simply draw to circles and a line between them with a marker and watch Baymax come to life on your hand for your child. Kids slightly older than MG would definitely enjoy making these puppets themselves and they’re easy enough that both young and older children can enjoy making these puppets!
I also made some of our favorite popcorn to munch on while having our family movie night. This stuff is amazing and addictive – it’s just simply popcorn with melted semi-sweet chocolate chips and butterscotch drizzled on top.
Does your family have movie nights? What extra things do you do to make them fun?
These are too cute! STILL need to see the movie!!
I really want to see this movie! It looks like your little one enjoyed it 🙂
WE have had Big Hero 6 on repeat since Saturday. My kids love it and I can't wait to watch it!
I haven't seen it yet!! We have movie night with pizza on Fridays. We put down a picnic blanket on the floor for the kiddos, they love it!
We love Big Hero Six we saw it in theaters and now we own it. That popcorn sounds good.
I made Big Hero 6 themed brunch for my kids for the release too, these are so simple! Great idea.
We haven't seen Big Hero 6 yet, but I think this weekend sounds like a great time for a movie night! That popcorn looks tasty, and the puppet is perfect for the kiddos, too! #client
Awesome! What a great family night and such a super simple craft idea. Love it!
