My life feels like it’s on fast forward lately. From weddings to play dates galore to having a lot of blog posts to write – sometimes I’m just overwhelmed. It’s funny because I always think Summer is going to be slow, long, laid back… full of nice relaxing days at the pool. But with an incredibly active 13 month old and a crazy blog schedule that’s just not the case.
Over the weekend we were able to get away from Maddie Grace for a night to go to the wedding of some good friends. They’re the type of couple that is perfect for each other and you just know is going to make it, which is the best type of couple to celebrate a wedding for. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and we saw a lot of friends we hadn’t seen in a while and loved catching up.
We also spent a lot of time at the pool over the weekend. Our pool opened Memorial Day but it rained a lot last week and we were so busy we only made it once. We made up for it over the weekend though with daily trips. Maddie Grace loves the pool – both the swimming around and just watching other kids. Mommy loves the pool too but has learned quickly that it’s not the relaxing experience it once was before having children. Now it’s pretty much chasing Maddie Grace around and making sure she doesn’t jump in the pool without me which is quite the task, but I still wouldn’t have it any other way.

We also managed to squeeze in lunch with my in laws and church with a churchwide barbecue party afterwards on Sunday. It was a really nice day and we all had a lot of fun.
This week is already crazy. We have play date after play date after play date this week which is awesome since Maddie Grace needs to be out of the house and around other kids. Plus it’s good for me to engage in adult conversation occasionally I think. Yesterday we went to a little kid event with a bunch of baby friends and Maddie Grace was loving stealing all the other kids’ food. Funny how she won’t eat certain foods at home but the second she sees another kid with that food it’s all she wants.

We are looking forward to a few more fun play dates this week and then hopefully a fun weekend with some time just to sit at home and relax. Now I’d love to hear from you – how are you spending your Summer days?
Awwww, gorgeous! 🙂 You have a beautiful family! Our little one LOVES the water, too – so we are looking forward to a lot of water and pool days this summer!
Thank you!!! Sounds like a good plan 🙂
I always think the same thing about summer, that it's going to be slow and lazy but it never is. I'm going to try and work on that this year… Hope you have a great summer!
Time goes too fast! You too!
We haven't been to the pool yet this season and it's killing me! Abbie loves the water and I can't wait to get her in there again!
Oh yes you need to!! We need a break from it now haha!
The color of your bathing suit is absolutely beautiful!
