Sometimes I wonder if me packing our life too full of activity is to blame for there always being sickness in our home. I mean I really don’t think we ever go more than a month without someone, or everyone, falling ill. Right now Tom and MG both have something although MG seems a lot better today. But we’ve just been having so much fun. So we need to all get back to 100% quick because I can’t stand not leaving the house all day. It’s the worst.
Pretty much starting Wednesday and ending Sunday we were running nonstop. Wednesday morning Maddie Grace and I headed up to Build-A-Bear at Northpoint Mall in Alpharetta, GA for one of the funnest events I’ve been to in a while – the Lalaloopsy welcoming party! Maddie Grace got to make her own Lalaloopsy doll and with a great group of kids, and we left with some awesome Lalaloopsy products including a Lalaloopsy baking oven that I wish I had when I was a kid, and a super cute Lalaloopsy DVD that MG loves! If you have a Lalaloopsy loving daughter make sure you go check out this cute line of dolls and products at Build-A-Bear!
Wednesday night Tom’s work had a manager and partner appreciation dinner, and this was the first year we’ve been invited as it’s the first year Tom’s been a manager. It was a really nice dinner, nicer than some weddings I’ve been to, in a air conditioned tent with some amazing food and an open bar. We had a great evening and actually enjoyed some time away from Maddie Grace as we were able to find a last minute babysitter, which is something we rarely do.
Friday I went out with girlfriends to celebrate one of our own being selected one of the top 20 most eligible Atlantans by Jezebel magazine! This is a really big deal around here and a huge honor. They select only the smartest, most successful, and of course most attractive Atlantans and this friend of mine is all of those things so of course she was the perfect fit.
Saturday Tom and I had a special day planned that he had really been looking forward to – it was his first time taking Maddie Grace to the zoo! I’ve gone with her several times but he hadn’t yet, and in fact said he hadn’t been to a zoo since elementary school, and he was over the top excited. I haven’t been handling the heat too well this pregnancy so I kind of hung back and let him really get into all the exhibits with her which worked out well. MG loves the zoo and animals of all types so it’s really fun to watch her when we go to the zoo and I’m glad Tom was able to experience this with her. We didn’t get a lot of great pictures because MG just wanted to stare at the animals, but we tried. Saturday night we got together with some of our friends from college for a cookout which of course was a blast, especially now that there are multiple babies (and more on the way) in this group of friends.
Sunday I was invited to the Faviana fashion show which was a blast! They had food, drinks, and were showcasing all their latest and greatest prom and special occasion dresses. I so wish that when I was in high school prom dresses were what they were now and as much as I dread the thought of Maddie Grace being in high school I got excited looking at these dresses and thinking that one day I’d be helping her pick one out! They also had some gorgeous dresses that are perfect for bridesmaid dresses so if you are wedding planning definitely go check them out!
So now it’s back to resting, hydrating, and vitamin C-ing (aka sitting on the couch watching Peppa the Pig) for us while hoping we make a full recovery by our next play date!
It sounds like you had such a fun week!! I have a date night scheduled with my hubby this weekend and I am really looking forward to it! 😉
