Well this was officially back to school week. Okay for us it’s really just “to school” (no “back”) since this is a first for Maddie Grace. This week was Maddie Grace’s first week of Preschool – even though she’s in the 1 year old class which doesn’t seem like much of school but more of a little play group. So far it’s been… an experience. MG doesn’t seem to be the biggest fan of it yet but I do think it will be really good for her. She has the sweetest teachers and the other kids in her class are adorable, I think it’s just going to take a little while to get used to it and really warm up to school. I worry that if she doesn’t do something like this she won’t get the socialization she needs, and I’m not a very good teacher so she needs to be around people who are some of the time.
Maddie Grace’s class runs from 9-12, and there’s the option of leaving her until 1 and having her eat lunch. So far I’ve picked her up at 12 each day and it seems all the other kids have been picked up then too. I don’t want her to be the only one staying for lunch so we will wait until it seems like more kids are staying for lunch and then give it a try one day.
When she gets home from school Maddie Grace is hungry (wait… she’s always hungry) so I give her some lunch before she goes down for a nap. One of her favorite after school treats is Del Monte’s Fruit & Veggie Fusions. Maddie Grace’s favorite flavor is Peach Mango, but they also come in Cherry Fruit Trio and Apple Pear Watermelon flavors. Del Monte Fruit & Veggie Fusions will be available at Walmart starting September 8, 2015.
The days that I mediate I spend more than three hours away and it’s no big deal. For some reason the days I’ve dropped Maddie Grace off at preschool this week I’ve really missed her. I think it’s taking on the activities that I’m used to having her around for that make me miss her absence. It sure makes me grateful for our afternoons together and all of our fun play dates that we have on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays though.
So our family super moment is Maddie Grace starting preschool! We might both have mixed feelings on it but I think it’s going to work out really well for us and I can’t wait to see Maddie Grace make friends and learn new things at school! Do you have a super moment with your kids from this week? Share your super moment and participate in the Share the Super Sweeps [running August 10th through September 18th 2015] for your chance to win awesome prizes from Del Monte!
Okay so now you tell me – what was your super moment this week? Anyone else ready for some super moments this weekend? Let me know below!
She is just the cutest! I'm sure that once she gets more used to it she will love her time at Preschool. 🙂 My son had his second week of on-site Kindergarten classes this past week (he's at a Charter school that's a hybrid program; three days in a classroom doing math and literature, then we're in charge of social studies and science at home) and he's having a hard time adjusting to sitting still and listening, but Thursday he finally had a better day! So, here's to improvements, however small they may be. 🙂
Thank you!! And yes I think any adjustment like this takes time – it would take time for me to get used to now so I can only imagine when they are young how hard it is! I think that hybrid system sounds awesome – I know there are a couple private schools around here that do that that I am interested in looking into when MG is older!
