Well the school year is in full swing over here and we are gearing up for lots of Halloween fun – we are in the second half of month two for Maddie Grace’s little ‘preschool’ class and everything is going really well! I was very nervous about putting her in the 1 year old class even though it’s only 3 hours twice a week. I wasn’t sure that she was ready for it, or if she was going to enjoy it, and wasn’t sure if I was ready for it yet. Well, we both love it. I get a few hours to get some work done and she gets to socialize, play, and actually learn from teachers who know what they’re doing.
But I don’t want the learning and exploring to end when she gets home from school. One thing from school she particularly loves is the coloring. So we turned out coffee table into a coloring table (in retrospect maybe not the best idea) and have crayons and coloring books galore. Since I like to keep my house somewhat organized I need a container for her crayons. And since I love reusing items, and we have been big on after-school snacks around here, I found the perfect solution by transitioning one of her Go-Packs! into a crayon box!
First, eat your Go-Pack! Usually Maddie Grace and I will split one as a special treat after she eats lunch on her school days.
Now, cover in paint color of your choice and allow to dry. Here is where it would be fun to have older kids help out. I painted a base color and then used a paint marker and puffy paint to decorate. It would also be fun to use stickers for preschoolers. We decided to make ours pink since that’s Maddie Grace’s favorite color, but add some purple, orange, and glow in the dark for Halloween fun!
Fill up your new crayon box with crayons and leave out on your child’s coloring table for easy access.
I bought everything I needed for our snacking and crafting at our local Walmart. These Go-Pack! snacks are great to buy in large quantities especially since they are only $1! I love mixing the Go-Pack! It’s also really fun to eat some of your Go-Pack!, add a little Snack Pack Pudding and top with Reddi-Wip for a super yummy treat.

This is such a great idea for how to use the containers! I love it and I know my kids will too! Thanks for sharing!
