Maddie Grace’s second Halloween has come and gone! Can someone make time slow down, please? But this year was so much fun, I can’t wait to see how much fun it is next year when she understands what’s going on even more.
Maddie Grace’s costume this year was Peppa Pig – although she hated her hat so it was hard to tell who she was. We did several trunk-or-treats leading up to the big event this year which were a blast and I think really helped MG pick up on the idea of trick-or-treating. If nothing else she learned that saying “tank ew” and “bye bye” to people really makes them smile. And she got lots of candy which she was pretty excited about.
We didn’t really do anything this weekend besides Halloween festivities. MG’s grandparents came over earlier in the day Saturday and we watched some Georgia Football (don’t remind me about that game) and then we headed over to our neighborhood parade and Halloween party. There was a great turnout again this year, although sadly for all the kids no fire trucks, and MG loved watching all the kids in their costumes and even wanted to get out of her wagon to actually walk in the parade! She scarfed down a ton of pizza at the party, and then was ready to hit the streets to trick-or-treat. At this point MG and I were both definitely coming down with colds though – we made it to several houses on our street before we decided it was time to turn in and get some rest. Maddie Grace ended up with a pretty good stash of candy, some of which is still left. We ended the night with my brother coming over and eating ice cream while watching Hocus Pocus, overall another successful Halloween in our book!
I’m keeping this short and sweet because this is a really busy week and both Maddie Grace and I have come down with a cold – and if she isn’t better when she wakes up we will be heading to the doctor. But I do want to touch on how much I love this scarf from Indigo and Sage, a super cute and trendy Instagram boutique that I’m obsessed with! I know I’m lame for not wearing a costume but I really wasn’t feeling up to it this year, and I had several of the neighbourhood moms stop to tell me how much they love it. I’m really digging that it’s a plaid blanket scarf but not the exact same one that everyone has – you know which one I’m talking about. Not judging if you have it and love it, I have one sitting in my closet myself, but sometimes it’s fun to have something a little different! Indigo and Sage has a wide variety of shirts, sweaters, scarves, and other accessories and has really great prices so I highly recommend checking them out.`
How much would you like to get your hands on the same scarf, or one of the many other cute things from Indigo and Sage? Make sure you are following me on Instagram and stay tuned for a fun giveaway coming up there later today!
