Spoiler: These two weeks have been tough. Not to put a negative spin on things because being able to carry another human life is amazing and such a blessing, but I haven’t been feeling good. Also – 31 weeks, seriously? 9 weeks left? I guess it’s time to start freaking out.
Feeling: Like I said, miserable. There are two main problems: lower back pain and heartburn. Both are pretty extreme. I’m hoping this is just a short phase and then I go back to normal, but not overly optimistic that such is the case. All of this has made sleeping rather difficult for me so I’m in a constant state of tiredness that I know is just going to stay when we have a newborn has set in.
Comments: I shared this already on Instagram, but at on Monday 2 different women made comments about how I had gotten a lot bigger over the last week. That was fun. They were both moms who I know have been through this before so I don’t think meant anything by it, I’m just a little self conscious right now, and they’re definitely right.
Baby Prep: Some things I’m feeling good about. We toured the hospital we are having baby #2 at and had a really good experience. Other things we are way behind at. Like getting the rooms set up. We still need to clean out the room that is going to be Maddie Grace’s room, paint it, and get her furniture so that we can re-use the nursery furniture. I’m not sure that she’s ready for a toddler bed and that’s the one thing we have set up in her new room so that may be an issue for us.
Names: None. Still haven’t thought of even one I like. So don’t ask… just kidding it’s okay to ask, but that’s what I’ll just repeat that. Tom has a name he likes but I’m not so sure about, but since so far I haven’t been able to think of anything better we might just go with that. It’s funny – my whole childhood and into adulthood I had lists of what I was going to name my future babies. And then when I became pregnant with Maddie Grace, all of a sudden I didn’t like any of the girl names that had originally been on my list, and now the same thing has happened with the boy names. With Maddie Grace we then hit the issue of Tom and I not agreeing on any names, so ultimately I chose her first name and he chose her middle name and we made it a double name – compromise. So maybe between now and having the baby I’ll hear the perfect name. Hopefully.
Clothing: Yep I’m definitely getting bigger and needing more maternity options, even though it’s hard to buy clothing that I know I’ll only need 10 more weeks. I was really excited this last week to try out Bump Style Box. Bump Style Box is a subscription service for pregnant/nursing women that sends you 3-4 complete designer outfits, some including shoes and accessories, based on your personal style choices and what pieces you tell your stylist you’re looking for for a $30 stylist fee per box. If you spend over $150 on items from your box that fee is waived.
Now the items from Bump Style Box are high end, and more than I typically spend on clothing unless it’s a splurge, so be prepared when you sign up. I received a blogger box which is a little different than the box you would typically received – my box contained 5 dresses, and none were under $100. Tops typically range $75-100 and jeans are $180-250. For the perfect top/dress I might splurge though, so I thought it was worth a shot despite the high price points. When you’re done shopping from your box you simply ship it back in the box it came in with the preprinted shipping label. The downside? It ships UPS so you will have to take it to your closest center to return.
I told my stylist that I was looking for a shower dress, and accidentally checked the box that I was expecting a girl instead of a boy, eek! But good news is I sill loved the colors of the dresses that came in my box, and they are really more my colors than boy colors are. Now only one of these dresses I’m debating on keeping, but I’ll go ahead and show all of them to you.
So here are the things I didn’t love:
And the one I might just keep (also pictured up above):
What are your thoughts on what I was sent from Bump Style Box? Should I keep this dress?
Beautiful! Congrats
Thank you Caroline!
I think you look beautiful in the white one too! I hope you start feeling better 🙂
Thank you!!!
You look awesome, girl! Not much longer!
Thank you! Not long at all!
You look so great!
I love the purple dress on you 🙂

Thank you!
Those dresses are all adorable!!! My niece was just born at 31 weeks, 4 days, enjoy the last few weeks of pregnancy!
Thank you! Oh wow! How is she doing?
Hope you start feeling better! Thanks for the review on your box; I can't imagine spending that much on a dress I could grow out of before it comes time to wear it!
Thank you!! I know, they are definitely a splurge!
I'm with you, these last few weeks have been the hardest so far. The heartburn and back pain are SO rough. And I think you look great! If you're bigger, it's because YOU ARE GROWING A HUMAN WHO IS GETTING BIGGER. You're rocking it.
Thank you! Sorry you are dealing with this too!!! It's so worth it!
The purple dress looks awesome on you! I love the little pockets. Also, you have my wholehearted support to complain as much as you like! I was MISERABLE the entire time I was pregnant with my daughter: while I was very glad to get her from that at experience, I am not one of these people who enjoys being pregnant. 🙂
Thank you! Yes to be fair I've had an easy pregnancy until now and there are only 9 weeks left so I think I can handle it and it will DEFINITELY be worth it!!!
