I’ve struggled with my skin since middle school. During college and while in law school I managed to somehow have good skin – I remember feeling comfortable not wearing makeup and my skin being completely clear on my wedding day. Then I got pregnant with Maddie Grace. It was the best thing that’s ever happened in my life, and the worst thing to ever happen to my skin. I don’t think my skin had cleared up since I got that positive pregnancy test. Add on the stress of 2 under 2 aging my skin and we have quite a dilemma. It seems like every skincare system on the market treats either acne or wrinkles, not both. Well, that’s what I thought until I learned about Paula’s Choice.
I started the process of getting hooked on Paula’s Choice with a simple skincare consultation via email. I said my biggest concern was acne, but I was also bothered by the wrinkles popping up on my face, thinking they were going to say I had to pick between the two. But instead they said no problem, we have products that treat both issues in one. I still think that’s crazy. A few days after that a box full of skincare products showed up at my door. I was a little overwhelmed by all of them at first but was told what products to use at what times, and loved that they came with stickers to put on the bottles to help remind me which products are used in the morning and a night, and which order they go in.
I’ve been using my Paula’s Choice products for about a month now and am a huge fan! Is my skin perfect? No, but it has improved drastically and at 2 months postpartum I don’t think perfect skin can be expected because hormones are still out of control. But the improvement that I’ve seen so far makes me excited to continue using these products and see where they take me!
My favorite of all the products is the Resist Perfectly Balanced Cleanser, which is what I start with each morning and night. It’s so smooth and creamy and does an amazing job of cleaning. I know this because I use a brush cleaner and this is the only face wash that I can tell really takes off all of my makeup based on how much I see on the brush when I’m done.
Both morning and night I next use the Resist Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner followed by the Resist Daily Pore Refining Treatment with 2% BHA. These smooth wrinkles, calm red areas from breakouts. Then comes the Clear Extra Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 5% Benzoyl Peroxide which fights acne while also soothing skin.
My morning routine ends with the Resist Youth-Extending Daily Mattifying Fluid. It has SPF 50 in it and moisturizes while reducing pore size and making skin look younger – I’m a big fan. At night I follow up with a little Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum – really focusing it around my eyes and neck. This stuff goes on super light and leaves skin so soft. I also finish at night with the Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator. Once a week at night I also use the Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment 4% BHA before moisturizing. This stuff seriously evens out skin tone and you wake up with a fresh face!
Overall my skin has cleared up a lot. My red marks from past breakouts has calmed down, and my skin just all around looks healthier. My skin hasn’t dried out using these products – I’m still amazed every time I finish with my routine by how soft my face is.
