Another weekend come and gone. We seriously live for the weekends over here. I mean our weekdays are fun – at least I try to keep them interesting – but weekends are when the magic really happens. Mommy isn’t constantly checking email or on the computer trying to type up a blog post real quick, and daddy is home and work free for 2 whole days. We spent this weekend in town and exploring Atlanta again. My dad, ‘Pa-Pa’ was here Friday and part of the day Saturday which was great! Maddie Grace has been extra grump lately so she wasn’t always nice to grandpa, and even put him in “TIME OUT PA-PA TIME OUT” one day.
Friday was rather uneventful. We did our normal music class and lunch routine. Afterwards we hung out at our house, and my brother came over for dinner with us. Saturday had a lot more activities. We got up and my dad and I took the kids to one of the Theater for the Very Young shows at the Alliance Theater – this one was ‘Babies in Space’. It was a really cool show and our star obsessed child was in heaven. Maddie Grace had so much fun helping the astronauts collect rocks and watching them do silly things. Tripp also seemed to enjoy taking in the sights and sounds.
Later in the afternoon, after my dad left, we went down to Piedmont Park to take Maddie Grace to the awesome splash pad there. But we couldn’t remember how to get to the splash pad so we spent a significant amount of time just walking around the park until we finally stumbled upon it.
We had just the right amount of time to splash before the fountains turned off for the night. Then we got queso and margaritas before heading home. Tom wore Tripp in the MiaMily Hipster carrier while we were running around the park and it seemed really comfortable for both of them. The Hipster is really different than any other baby carrier I’ve ever used. It sticks out, almost like a fanny pack, which is genius because baby actually has a little seat to be on which helps with weight distribution. And we are giving one away on my Instagram so head over there now!
Sunday we tried to catch up on some stuff around the house and wanted to go ahead and make some end of the year presents for Maddie Grace’s teachers since her last day of school is this week. We bought some clay flower pots and pretty little plants for them. I used a paint marker to write “Thank you for helping me” on them – then stamped MG’s hand using paint, and wrote GROW around her hand! It was super easy and I think her teachers will like them.

We ended the weekend with a long walk and some play time at our favorite park!
