I know, who posts on Friday nights? Well, clearly I do. It’s been a while since I’ve done any type of update with what our family has been up to lately, and I completely missed doing a 7 month update for Tripp (even though he’s closer to 8 months now). Life has been kind of a mess lately because someone in our family has been sick every given day for what seems like the last 2 months! So I wanted to write a quick update on our family, what Tripp is up to at 7 months, and share these pictures that Amanda Nicole Photography (if you’re in Atlanta you need to use her) captured during a mini session we did with her lately!

So 7 months with our sweet Bubby, I can’t believe it! Tripp is still the happiest, sweetest boy that I’ve ever met. Right after he turned 7 months he started both crawling (and crawling fast) and pulling up within a few days of each other, it was insane! He is seriously on the go – always chasing after his sister or the cat, or in search of whatever food her can find. Seriously, he will see it across the room and find a way to get it.
Speaking of which Tripp loves food. We are doing baby led weaning with him just like we did with Maddie Grace (post on that coming soon), and he’s doing great with it! Tripp likes pretty much everything we’ve tried with him. His favorites are melon, strawberries, oranges, turkey, and pizza. He still has no teeth but he can gum pretty much anything!
As easygoing and happy as Tripp is, he has a few things that he hates and will not put up with. These include being dressed, having his diaper changed, and being put in a car seat. Don’t try these things with him. Just don’t.
We get a lot of comments about his hair color, but honestly he is still so bald it’s hard to tell what color it really is. In some lighting it does look red/orange, and in other light it looks more brown. I guess we will just have to wait and see what color it turns out! I still love his eye color and would call them hazel – they are a bluish gray on the outside with brown near his pupils. He is our pale baby though and doesn’t seem to tan at all in the sun so I see a lot of sunscreen in his future!
Besides being sick the rest of the family has been doing well! Maddie Grace started school today and it was okay – she screamed when dropped off and her teacher told me she didn’t follow directions well (surprise) and said “NO!” a lot which got her in timeout several times. I’m really on the fence with the whole school thing just because I really think with her personality (and complete inability to listen or follow directions) she may do better in a play based learning setting, but we are going to give this a chance and see how it goes.
Maddie Grace’s vocabulary has grown lately and I just adore the little girl she’s becoming. She has a ton of energy and her creativity amazes me. Her favorite show right now is Beat Bugs on Netflix (teaching important childhood lessons with Beatles songs – genius) and she likes to read books to me making up the stories but doesn’t really like having books read to her. She still sings nonstop and is great with remembering songs and lots of times likes to make up her own songs. Her newest thing is to like to grab me or Tom and say “this is MY mommy/daddy!” which is really cute. She loves to give hugs, says “good job!” to us when we do things like press elevator buttons, and always wants to make sure everyone is okay! Maddie Grace loves shopping, makeup, princess dresses, and everything girly, but still likes to play in the dirt with the boys.
We were supposed to head to Savannah this evening but me being sick mixed with the power being out thanks to the hurricane made it so we couldn’t but hopefully we will head down in the morning. Besides that we are excited for fall, football season, and planning out our upcoming trips!
helpful information for me, thanks for sharing it!!
