Oh children. One day you will long for the days where you were allowed to take a nap. You’ll be in an office at 3:00 pm, and find yourself unable to keep your eyes open while you try to finish up some reports. And perhaps you’ll remember the days where your mother told you to take a nap and refused and wish it back.
As a mom, nap time can be one of the hardest times of the day. Some days my kids fall asleep no problem, and other days they will both absolutely refuse to. The worst might be when they sleep at alternating times, or when they fall asleep right when dad gets home.
But here’s the deal: they need their naps. And I need their naps. Whether it’s that I need to sneak in some sleep myself, work on blogging, clean up the many messes they made, workout… That time is oh so valuable to me.
And it’s crucial for their development to have quality naps. Kids’ bodies use that downtime for growth and development, and it helps my kids stay in better moods when they are awake.
That’s why this little guy is huge in our family. He comes with us everywhere – on trips, in the car, and then I have to figure out which kid gets him when to go to sleep. They both love our SoundBub, or ‘HooHoo’ as Maddie Grace calls him. He’s a cute little machine that has 2 preloaded white noises on it, perfect for taking on the go! SoundBub is also compatible with WavHello’s VoiceShare app, where loved ones can record voice messages, or lullabies, that will play through SoundBub, perfect for long distance family members.
And nap time means play time goes better in our house. Another thing I love about the SoundBub is that it can be paired with any Bluetooth-enabled device. Both of my kids love music so we bring the SoundBub around for jamming out too!
What is nap time like in your house? I’d love to hear all the details in the comments!
