We’ve done a lot of traveling over the last month. We’ve actually been to 4 different countries in 30 days. But now we have a break… well until next weekend and Thanksgiving, both of which we will be in Savannah for! As stressful as traveling with kids can be, it’s always worth it to have the experiences travel brings and create family memories for everyone. Through our experiences we’ve learned a lot about what is necessary to pack, what is just going to take up extra room, and how to survive flights with our little ones. That’s why I’ve partwhen you are flying, whether across the state or across the world, here are some things to definitely keep on hand in your carry-on:
(1) Wet Ones®
Newflash: kids are messy. Very, very messy little people. And somehow when traveling they seem to get even more messy. Whether it’s food all over them, or the markers they insisted on bringing, you’re going to find yourself wanting to give them a bath probably within 5 minutes of arriving at the airport. But clearly, you can’t. Which is why you should always have Wet Ones® in your carry-on to wipe down those little people with. Wet Ones® Antibacterial Hand Wipes are the convenient 2-in-1 way to wipe out dirt and messes and kill 99.9% of germs when soap and water aren’t readily available. They manage to be tough on dirt and germs while being gentile on skin making them perfect for use on little ones. I also find them useful for wiping off all the stuff that falls onto the floor while traveling. When we travel there are a million fears going through my mind, so I love that with Wet Ones® I don’t need to worry about cleaning up messes while on the go so that we can just enjoy the trip!
(2) Snacks
Like a million snacks. I have no idea how young children manage to eat the amount that mine do, but they are seriously bottomless pits. I try to bring way more than we could ever need, and various types of snacks because I know if I have fruit snacks my toddler will want peanut butter crackers.
(3) Activity Bags
Just as we it’s important to have different types of snacks, it’s important to have different types of activities to keep little ones occupied as we all know that their attention spans are very short. We do things like coloring books, stickers, window clings, and with older kids you could also include figurines, jewelry making supplies, and whatever other hands on activities your kids enjoy!
(4) A fully charged iPad.
And also an iPad with shows and apps already downloaded on it and ready to go for the kids. When all else fails, the iPad usually does the trick to calm down both of my children (even the baby) and keep them occupied for a while.
