Well after quite some time being sick we finally were able to get outdoors this weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather. One thing that’s always on my mind with 3 kids when we go anywhere, literally anywhere, is how we are going to physically handle them wherever we are. 3 kids mean we have 1 too many for a double stroller, but still need some way to wheel them around. That’s where our Radio Flyer Wagon has become our best friend. We use it with our kids whether walking around our neighborhood, or for trips at the park. But that’s not where it stops – we use our Radio Flyer Wagon for SO many other things I am here to share with you some other ways we use our and way it’s essential to have one. And because it’s National Little Red Wagon Day Radio Flyer has 30-50% off your favorite wagons (see more on that below)!
So here we go:
-Moving kids. Well this is the obvious one I just mentioned. Our kids love getting in the wagon and going for a ride. Whether it’s around our house or out and about somewhere it’s a fun and practical means to get them from point A to point B!
-Gardening. We use our wagon to cart around gardening supplies all the time. Dirt, tools, fertilizer, and whatever else we need is loaded on it in the garage and then we can easily wheel it where we need.
-Farmer’s Market Trips. We love going to the Farmer’s Market near us where we always find all the random things you could think of. From plants, to groceries, to soaps. With our wagon along we just throw all our finds in the wagon, and maybe a kid as well, to cart around!
-In schools. Tripp’s teacher has the exact same Radio Flyer wagon we do that she uses to pull supplies from the supply room to the classroom which I always think is genius! And it makes Tripp so happy to tell her that he has the same one at home!
-Picnics. My kids are really into picnics these days. We typically just have them somewhere in our back or front yard but we put our picnic basket, and all our supplies, in the wagon and then find the perfect spot!
-Sensory activities for kids. Wagons are the perfect height, especially for toddlers, and a great way to do water, sand, or really any sensory type activity is to use your wagon! We’ve filled ours up with a thin layer of water and thrown in some water toys before to let the little ones splash around in it and they love it!
-Decoration. Whether a front porch fall display, or if you move it inside and use as a bookshelf, there are so many adorable and creative ways to use a little red wagon as decoration!! I’ve even seen people decorate their wagons for trick or treating and town parades!
-Collecting Fruit. Whether you go to the apple orchard or strawberry patch, or anywhere else where you pick your own fruit, you’ll want to bring your little red wagon to load up all your fruit on to have the best time possible!
-Pumpkin Patch. Well similar to collecting fruit I feel like a little red wagon is a must have when you are at the pumpkin patch. Pick out your favorite pumpkins and wheel them along to keep your hands free!
-Photo Prop. Whether it’s just every day pictures of the kids having fun, or used as a newborn photo session prop, a little red wagon is essential for any “momtog”!
So there you have it. A little red wagon isn’t just a wagon for kids, it serves all these purposes and so much more. I’m sure there are a lot of things I’m forgetting about and more you and your kids imagination can fuel. For more than 100 years Radio Flyer has been powering play and inspiring imagination with their little red wagons. In honor of National Little Red Wagon Day which is today, March 27, go to RadioFlyer.com to choose from Radio Flyer’s best selection of Town & Country, All Terrain, Folding and Build-A-Wagons ranging from 30 to 50 percent off.
What are some creative ways you’ve used a little red wagon? I’d love to hear more below!
