It’s the most wonderful time… to stress out about what you are getting your kids for the holidays this year. I know, that’s me every year this time of year too. I honestly don’t know how some moms are done buying gifts when it’s warm outside because I wait until December and have no clue what to get my kids every year. So this year I wanted to bring y’all some fun gift ideas for kids or different ages that you might not have thought of and might not be on their lists of 10,000 random items you know they’ll never actually play with. And these are gifts not just great for the holidays – keep these in mind for birthdays, and just random occasions. No reason not to celebrate random days right? Right. Alright let’s jump in!
This is a subscription service for kids that I’ve heard of before, been interested in, but never actually purchased for my kids until now. Big mistake because it was and is continuing to be a HUGE hit with all 3 of my older kids! This is a monthly kit your kid will get that helps them to explore and learn about the whole world but from home. They come with hands on activities, games, books. and more. There are kits for kids of different ages so the one for ages 3-5 was perfect for both Millie and Tripp, and the other is perfect for Maddie Grace and even comes with age appropriate books that she is really enjoying. My kids instantly dived into these and my little kids learned all about the ocean and Maddie Grace went right for the Egypt kit and loved learning about the pyramids! They have been asking to pull these back out every day so I can’t wait to see how much they love getting this in the mail every month! Click here to learn more!
The Beatryce Prophecy by Kate DiCamillo
Now that Maddie Grace is into reading chapter books she is wanting to read anything she can possibly get her hands on. I’m struggling to keep up with her and finding some unique books which is why The Beatryce Prophecy by Kate DiCamillo, a two-time Newbery Medal winner, and Sophie Blackall, a two-time Caldecott Medal winner, is perfect for her. This is a book that feels like a fairy tale featuring a strong female heroine and has themes of friendship, humor, and the power of storytelling. Maddie Grace is still working her way through this book but she is eager to read it every day after school! You can find The Beatryce Prophecy on Amazon here!
Game-A-Sarurus Rex and Travel SEQUENCE from Goliath
I always load up on games for my kids for gifts. I want to give them things that get them away from screens and that we can all do together for fun and make memories as a family. Some of my favorite childhood memories are playing games with my family so that’s really what I want to foster with my own children. Goliath is a brand committed to making games that really play on kids imaginations.
Game-A-Saurus Rex is probably Tripp’s favorite game ever. It comes with a dinosaur stuffed animal and has a soft blanket that is the gamma and has 10 different games you can play with it so that the kids never get bored! You’ll find Game-A-Saurus Rex on Amazon here!
Travel SEQUENCE is more Maddie Grace’s jam and she asks me to play it with her nonstop. It’s the traditional SEQUENCE game but in travel version so perfect for a family on the go and we plan on taking it with us on all our trips for her cheerleading competitions this year! Travel Sequence is also on Amazon here.
