I went to the funnest event this weekend – MommyCon! Yes it’s exactly what it sounds like. A convention for mommys. And it’s amazing for those of us who get really into baby products and well… everything about babies. Before I go on if you are just here for the coupon code here ya go, it will get you $5 off your ticket to future 2015 MommyCon dates. Orlando is sold out but you can use it on Minneapolis, D.C., Columbus, Newport Beach and Seattle:

So MommyCon actually started on Friday with VIP sessions, although I wasn’t able to make it to any. There were sessions on wrapping with Tekhni Wraps, another babywearing class with Ergo and Beco Baby, a business class from Cotton Baby and breastfeeding talk with the Leaky Boob. Each VIP session came along with an amazing gift bag. I’m not sure what exactly was in each one but I know the babywearing session bag included a nice baby carrier, Leaky Boob’s breastfeeding session came with an awesome Ergo breastfeeding pillow, and Tekhni’s session came with a gorgeous Tekhni wrap. The VIP sessions did cost extra but each gift bag was worth well more than what the session cost. I tried to buy a VIP ticket (I was interested in all the sessions so I wouldn’t have cared which one) but they sold out immediately so if you are registering for future dates keep that in mind.
Saturday MommyCon was up and running bright and early. I got there around 8:45 AM and all the booths were set up and there was a long line of babywearing mamas waiting to get in even though the first session didn’t begin until 9:30 AM
The way MommyCon works is there is a big area with vendor booths set up. You can walk around and talk to the vendors and try out the new baby products coming out. There was a room for cloth diapering education where they had just about every brand and type of cloth diaper for moms to look at. Meanwhile there are constant sessions going on, 2 at any given time, and other stations set up such as sleep consultations, the Baby Guy and activities for all the little ones running around.
The sessions were really informative and interesting. There was a yoga class, Cloth Diapering 101, Wrapping 101, and even a music class for the babies at the event, among many others. Most sessions were related to natural parenting in some form but not all and every single class I think any mama, crunchy or not, could have gotten something out of.
Maddie Grace might look miserable in this picture but she actually had a great time and enjoyed getting on the floor and being her crazy self as there were baby play areas all over the place. In each session room there were baby play areas in the back so babies can play while mommys listen!
At the end of the day there were a lot of amazing giveaways, including wraps, stroller systems, awesome carseats and more. I was a little bummed that I didn’t win anything but that’s life. On the upside everyone leaves Mommycon with an amazing gift bag. Mine was full of all types of goodies including an adorable nightlight, a wet bag for cloth diapering, sunscreen, bottles and more.
If you’re on the fence I highly recommend MommyCon – I had a great time and can’t wait to go again next year! Have any questions? Ask below and I’ll answer them the best I can!
