Beauty Basics

Don’t you love having a good solid set of basic beauty products that you reach for almost all the time? The makeup products that can transition from both day to night, build up or down, are always there for you when you need them? Okay maybe took that a little too far. But I’ve put together my beauty basics that I reach for on a daily basis year round and am showing how I use them. 

I start pretty much ever day with PÜR’s 4-in-1 Spray Foundation. This is a very moisturizing foundation that gives amazing coverage and an airbrush-like glowing finish. I spray it directly on PÜR’s Liquid Chisel Brush and apply it all over my face and neck.  Because my skin is on the oily side I top with a setting powder and then a little of Benefit’s Hoola (the best matte bronzer).

I then use PÜR’s Cease Crease Eyeshadow Primer because my oily lids need a good primer to keep eye makeup on all day. My favorite eyeshadow palette right now for making all kinds of different looks is Lancome’s Auda[CITY]in Paris palette. This is the most versatile and amazing eyeshadow palette that I’ve used. It has 16 different shades which are a variety of shimmery and matte shades. Some of the shades are more pigmented than others (see the swatches below) – so you can create an easy, natural daytime look or a bold, dramatic night look. My go to look is to use Sante on my lids (a light brown matte color) and Exhibition in the crease ( a shimmery purple) and then a little Choquette (a very sheer shimmery peach) just to highlight my brow bone.

For eyeliner I use Lancome’s Artliner in black. This liquid eyeliner goes on super smooth and is the perfect dark black. My favorite mascara for volume and length is Lancome’s Hypnose Drama. I then fill in my eyebrows using Lancome Sourcils Waterproof Eyebrow Gel-Cream in blond – this is the best eyebrow product I’ve come across. It adds a ton of definition while looking natural.

I finish off my look with a quick brush of Lancome’s Blush Subtil in Rose Paradis. Although it looks super bright, a swipe of this is perfect for every day wear, or add a couple layers for a fun night out or more dramatic look. Then I usually add some lip color while on the way to where I’m going. If we are going out somewhere and I want to break out of my usual neutral mom lip color, I apply Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge in Magenta.
