I know all the toddler moms out there understand the struggle of making sure their toddler is healthy. Are they getting enough calcium? Is their iron level high enough? Can one actually live off of goldfish and fruit snacks? That’s why I wanted to write a post highlighting healthy habits for toddlers – and ones that are easy enough to work into your routine without fuss from your little ones.
A smoothie a day – I am all about making smoothies for my grumpy toddler! Some days she loves vegetables, some days she hates them, but it doesn’t matter because she doesn’t even know that they are in her beloved smoothies! Every smoothie I make her has some fruit and some spinach, and then some days I build on from there maybe adding kale, peanut powder (full of protein), or even a little carrot juice. Maddie Grace loves her smoothies and even helps me make them!
Vitamins – Don’t think vitamins are a possibility with your finicky tot? Think again! Olly Kids makes great gummy vitamins for kids. These vitamins legitimately taste good (I may have tried all of them and enjoyed them). We’ve been doing the Super Brainy, Growing Bones, Happy Tummy, and Mighty Immunity vitamins, and we love each of them! Happy Tummy is a probiotic to help with healthy digestion, which my little one definitely needs; Immunity is full of good stuff like elderberry and zinc to help keep your kid from getting sick; Super Brainy has the mega omegas to foster brain development; Growing Bones (which I personally think tastes the best) has the calcium of an average serving of dairy plus a boost of vitamin D to go with it!
Hand washing/sanitizing – So important for germ-ridden toddlers! We find natural-based hand sanitizer to be a great habit to regularly use, and Maddie Grace thinks it’s fun for some reason – I have to cut her off every time. She’s also a fan of hand washing so we make sure to do that regularly throughout the day.
Keep them active – Exercise is good for all of us, toddlers are no exception. Get them outdoors and active as much as possible each day. My tot loves “racing” and I’ve started trying to do some toddler yoga with her despite her short attention span!
Olly is giving away an awesome package complete with Olly vitamins, clothing from Tea collection (one of our favorites), $500 to Target for whatever other randoms you might need, $100 to Starbucks to help you keep up with your toddler, and a year of Method cleaning products!
