“I also saw other things in this life that were not fair. The fastest runner does not always win the race; the strongest soldier does not always win the battle; wise people don’t always get the food; smart people don’t always get the wealth; educated people don’t always get the praise they deserve. When the time comes, bad things can happen to anyone!”
-Ecclesiastes 9:11
Life is not fair and we need to teach ourselves and our children this lesson so that they can carry on without us one day. If you live your life wanting all the things your friend has, and thinking you are entitled to those things, you will never be happy with what you have been blessed with. The three F’s should always come first – family, friends and faith. If you have these right, and work hard for your dreams, everything else will fall in place.
Bad things will happen, bad things happen to everyone. And there is always going to be someone out there with more and who life seems easier for. Those people who things just come easy for. But guess what? Life is never going to be fair. But we have to accept the lot we have been given and make the best of it. And this is what I want to pass down to Maddie Grace. A desire to seek God, knowledge, relationships, and true happiness before materialism, and a strong work ethic and an independent spirit to keep her afloat when times are tough. I want her to know that life is not fair, it never will be, but life is beautiful and amazing regardless.
Desire to seek God? that's the important thing… 😀
Of course!
so so true. I was living in my happy bubble until suddenly losing my father seven months ago. Life can be cruel sometimes.
I'm so sorry for your loss!
If everyone would just stop worrying about what others have, and concentrate on what they could have if they set their mind to it, they would receive it.
This is true!
So good! 1 Peter 4:12-19
Love those verses!
