Another weekend where we didn’t travel! I love traveling, and going home to Savannah, but some weekends it’s nice to stay here, get some stuff done around the house and exploring the activities and events going on around Atlanta.
Friday Maddie Grace and I met up with friends for a fun play date during the day where we had lunch at Krog Street Market, then walked the beltline to the Old 4th Ward Splash Pad which was a hit with all of the kids that came along. We got a little lost on the walk back and ended up taking a really long route so thank goodness we were with friends and not alone!
When Tom got off work we decided to kick off the weekend with dinner at one of our favorite spots – Tin Lizzie’s – which has my favorite margaritas (only about 5 months until I can have one again) and of course low country boil tacos which I can’t get enough of.
Saturday several of our friends were supposed to go to the Dunwoody Nature Center Butterfly Festival, but backed out last minute and we decided just to go by ourselves. We had a pretty good time, although it seemed a little bit better for older kids as there wasn’t much that Maddie Grace could actually do. She wasn’t that into looking at the butterflies in the butterfly tent, and was way more interested in trying to eat the butterfly food stick. At some point during the day Saturday is when I started craving cheeseburgers bad. Happy to finally have a craving that isn’t bread, but wish I could crave healthy foods. We found an awesome burger spot right by the nature center that I’m certain we will be visiting again.
Sunday we met up with friends for lunch at Avalon in Alpharetta and once again I needed a cheeseburger. We had a tough time getting Maddie Grace to nap and ended up just watching church online. Overall it was a great weekend with my awesome little family. And now we’re already halfway through the week! We are headed to Savannah this weekend which I can’t wait for, and next weekend we are doing a little trip as well, so glad we got some downtime here before we take some trips! Hope everyone is having a great week and had fun weekends, I’d love to hear about what you did below!
Great pics… your dress is so cute!! I forget that you're in the South… you must have the best accent! Post pics from Savannah when you go!!
Your daughter is so adorable! I like not having anything to do on the weekends, but your travels sound very nice, too.
Looks like a fun-filled weekend! Although I already said it on IG, I love your dress! (:
Thank you! It's an oldie but a goodie!
