Every mom knows what time of year it is. The dreaded cold and flu season is upon us and I, for one, am trying to stay ahead of the game. We also all know that toddler germs are the worst germs of all. With both a toddler and a newborn I certainly have my work cut out for me. Of course there are the basic precautions everyone should take during cold and flu season: wash your hands with soap and water often, get enough sleep, eat healthy, exercise, and minimize stress (from Chloraseptic Pharmacist Maria Mentione’s Tips for Cold and Flu Season). But what am I carrying around in my diaper bag to be prepared?
Chloraseptic® Throat Spray – I get the worst sore throats when I get sick so I make sure to always carry around Chloraseptic® spray and lozenges for sore throat relief – especially the new cherry flavored spray that tastes amazing. Chloraseptic® is the #1 sore throat relief brand that provides fast-acting relief for sore throats and mouth pain to help you get through the day, even when sick.
Healthy Snacks – We load up on oranges and mandarins and I always have them around for a healthy, vitamin C packed snack for both Maddie Grace and I.
Vitamin C Supplements – whether it’s drink mixes or pills I have quite a stash of vitamin C supplements and make sure to have a few in my diaper bag at any given time for a little immune boost.
Car Seat Cover – I love having a lightweight car seat cover to throw over Tripp’s carseat before we go into any kid-friendly case. It keeps germs and random people away from my newborn.
Face Mask – Okay it might look ridiculous, but wearing a face mask when around germ kids is the best way to not get their germs, or to not pass along your own germs if you are the sick one.
What are you carrying around to stay healthy this time of year? I’d love to hear more below!
I LOVE that "diaper bag" — it looks like a purse. Looks like the perfect option for when my little on gets a bit older; but I still need to lug stuff around 🙂
Baby wipes specifically for hand and face! And we also love the Honest brand antibacterial hand spray.
These are all great ideas! I definitely always cary baby wipes and hand sanitizer! Hope you're new family of four is all adjusting well!!
Ugh, my kids have all been sick with one thing or another for the past month! My throat always gets sore when I'm sick too, it seem to be the warning that something is coming, which in a way is kind of nice, lol. thanks for sharing this post.
my purse is pretty empty this time of year minus my wallet, phone, tissues and hand sanitizer
I have the WORST sore throat and cold right now…This would happen at 38 weeks pregnant. I've been using that Chloraseptic spray so much bc it's the only thing I can use!
First of all I love the bag!!! and great tips 😉
