It’s the weekend again and as the wife of someone who is in busy season right now I’m pretty much living for the weekends. As I’m slow to update on everything lately (hello life as a mom to 3 kids under the age of 4) now that it’s a new weekend seems like a good time to update everyone on what our family did last weekend. We had an awesome weekend and were able to get out of the house more, spend lots of time together as a family, and even hit up a festival. One of our favorite things about living in the metro Atlanta area is that there is always something going on and the festivals here are awesome. The 2018 Brookhaven Cherry Festival did not disappoint and was a great way to get back into the swing of things!
This years Cherry Festival featured a 5K run, tons of awesome musical performers, art stands. food, drinks, a huge kids area, and exotic birds. No seriously – the birds were one of the highlights of the festival for my kids (and me)! I’ve got getting an African Grey Parrot on my 5 year plan now.
Our first stop at the festival was the food area because we were all starving. There was so much to pick from and everything looked delicious! Plus I was able to grab a margarita. We sat by the stage to eat and got to also enjoy the music! Once we were done we hit up all the artist booths. I was blown away by all the amazing art from local venders and stocked up on gifts for upcoming events. After checking out each booth (I never want to miss anything) we headed to the kid area. Immediately our kids took off two different ways so I took Tripp to where a woman was making these cool huge bubbles for the kids to chase around, and Tom took Maddie Grace to the princess bouncy castle. We met back up and got both of the kids awesome balloon animals – Tripp picked a dinosaur and Maddie Grace picked a unicorn and the guy did a great job making them.
All in all I could not say enough good things about the Brookhaven Cherry Festival! Our whole family had a great time – even Millie who just slept for the most part but was awake for some pictures. I promise she has more fun than it looks like in these!
What is your favorite thing about spring? I’d love to hear more below!
