I love our weekend trips to Savannah, I just always wish we had a few days more there. It’s about a 4 hour drive from where we live in Atlanta so it’s not a terrible drive, but not an easy trip either. Especially with an impatient toddler. But for family and beach time? Definitely worth it.
Saturday we met up with some of our good friends for lunch and walking around downtown Savannah. It was a hot but nice day, and we enjoyed going to several of my favorite stores. At one I found this adorable giraffe top for Maddie Grace that I can’t wait to put on her for our next trip to the zoo, which we have planned later this week.
We were planning to go to the Savannah Sand Gnats baseball game that evening – I grew up going to these games and they have a special place in my heart, and there are only a few games left before the team moves to Columbia, South Carolina. But just as we were leaving for the game the sky turned black and it starting pouring rain so instead we went to publix and got ice cream and waffle cones and headed home where we ate it on the porch while watching the rain.
Sunday we were determined to have a beach day! We headed to Tybee and had a great time. Maddie Grace is such a beach baby and can not get enough of either the waves or the sand. The problem is getting her not to eat the sand though… She could seriously live at the beach and be perfectly happy, she never wants to leave! But we had to eventually for our fun pizza party that I talked about in my last post.
I’ve also been searching for cute boy outfits and love that the sweet Shannon of Izzy and Isla sent over this adorable little cardigan onesie for baby boy with this sweet headband for Maddie Grace! She makes some really cute girl cardigan onesies as well so go check her out!
Now it’s back to reality for a crazy week. Yesterday all of us were a mess, Maddie Grace refused to nap, and I was playing catch up on approximately a million things. Today I worked and still worked on that long list of things to catch up on. Tomorrow Maddie Grace’s preschool has a parent meeting with no kids allowed at 10:15 AM, because that makes a lot of sense to have a kid free meeting during the middle of the day so Tom is taking MG to music and then I’m picking her up from there for a play date after. Thursday we have another preschool meeting in the morning, this time we are supposed to bring kids. And Friday is our zoo trip! At least the weather here has been beautiful and our pool is still open for a couple weeks so we are taking advantage of that as much as possible!
Is anyone else already exhausted this week? I’d also love to hear anyone’s
That giraffe top is adorable!
The photo of your kiddo flying in the air is so cute.
