We’ve been trying to plan out some trips for 2018 and I’ve started making lists of places that I really want to visit. We didn’t do a lot of traveling in 2017 for multiple reasons but I would love to pick it up again in the new year! I’m sure traveling with 3 kids will be a breeze. Maybe. For financial reasons and the obvious being outnumbered reason we will probably not be traveling to extensively until our kids our a little older, but still want to manage at least 2-3 fun trips a year! Traveling is awesome for kids and teaches them so much about the world and I want to make sure we keep it up for that reason, as well as to have fun ourselves. So, for the near future, here is my bucket list of places I want to go to with the kids:
My favorite travel destinations are those that have food, culture, and history – and known as the City with Soul, Jackson has all of this. There is an awesome planetarium, natural science museum, art museum, and children’s museum, making it great for those of us who like to tow our kids around when we travel. I’d also love to visit the Eudora Welty House and Garden, as well as the gorgeous Missisippi’s Governor’s Mansion. And if you’re like me and part of why you love traveling is trying new cuisine, there’s tons of that in Jackson as well with over 300 restaurants. Check out this video to see more about why I want to visit this city so badly:

Austin, Texas
We have friends who used to live in Austin and plenty of others who have visited and rave about what a great and unique place it is. Plus I want to rent a car and go visit Waco to check out everything Magnolia of course!
Seattle, Washington
I’ve always been intrigued by Seattle and never been. I grew up in Savannah, Georgia, and I have always felt like Seattle is about as far away as you can get from there and still be in the continental United States which makes it really interesting to me. From checking out the arts scene to trying the food, there seems to be plenty to do and it looks gorgeous!
Banff National Park
I had never even heard of Banff until I saw pictures from a blogger I follow on Instagram of their trip to the National Park. And the scenery was just stunning! Mountain views, gorgeous lakes, and endless outdoor activities are what draw visitors to this area!
Bora Bora
This one has been on my bucket list for a long time and will remain here until we go – which might be a while since it’s definitely one of the pricier places to get to. A hut on top of the most gorgeous water I’ve ever seen? Sign me up!
Bermuda
We thought about doing a Bermuda trip this fall, as it’s one of few beachy places that doesn’t have Zika, but I was having such a rough/sick pregnancy I decided I didn’t really want to travel anywhere. But the stunning beaches, friendly locals, and mild climate year-round make it somewhere that I have to get to eventually!
Solta, Croatia
I know, it hasn’t been that long since we did a trip to Croatia. But it’s my favorite country ever and I’m always itching to go back. Solta is an island actually close to the island we stayed on during our last Croatia trip, but one I’ve never been to so I have to have it on this list. It’s known for absolutely gorgeous and uncrowded beaches, amazing Mediterranean food (olives and wine are a specialty of the island), and rich culture and history (Roman ruins still stand on the island). Plus thanks to boat taxis it’s easy to get anywhere on the mainland at anytime for more exploring!
So where are you planning trips to this year and where is on your bucket list? I’d love to hear all about it below!
I love your list! I have heard good things about Bora Bora! Add anywhere in Japan to your list. It is so off the radar for people in the states but the people are so nice and everything is so family friendly! Being stationed overseas, it’s a bit easier to get around so we travel often! This year we are doing Taipei, Singapore (cruising to Thailand) and I am doing a girls trip to Bali this Fall!
I desperately want to visit India and Vietnam. And Zambia!
Croatia looks so beautiful! It’s on my list of places I really really want to go. When do you want to go back?
I need to make a list like this too !
Banff is so magical! You’ll absolutely love the breathtaking views, gorgeous mountains, and stunning hikes. I’d love to go back one day.
I live in Seattle- come visit! It’s great. I would love to go to Savannah someday!
