Any time that I talk about feeling self conscious about my body when I’m pregnant I get a lot of women who understand completely what I mean. And if there was one time I was more self-conscious than when pregnant, it was those first few months after giving birth to Maddie Grace.
Even before getting pregnant with Maddie Grace I was a fan of wearing shapewear. It’s always been a necessity for me under tight dresses. But usually shapewear isn’t pretty or anything that you would want to wear alone. Jewel Toned has made it their mission to make body shapers that are cute enough to be worn on their own, and I love that about them!
Shapewear: c/o Jewel Toned; Kimono: Band of Gypsies
Jewel Toned shapewear is made for every different shape and size of woman and come in really fun colors. I picked out the Major Mini Dress – Jewel Toned also has bike shorts, bodysuits, bike shorts, and lingerie. Every piece is simple, beautiful, effective and fun. What I love about the major mini dress is that it is slimming and comfortable, and could be worn alone, under a tight fitting dress/outfit, or layer with a kimono like I did here or even tights, boots, and a sweater for going out in this cold weather!
I love the shape and support I get from this dress during pregnancy, and that it stretches to fit my body now and will also still give me the same slimming and smoothing effect postpartum.
Are you a fan of shapewear? I’d love to hear more below!
